Let's say that they have an American-style presidential system. The counties would get electoral votes (number of MPs + 2 for, say, a Senate by firing all the Lords) and everything goes like the US electoral college. How would everything be like? Which parties nominate candidates? Would REEEAAAALLLLYYYY minor parties like Respect (George Galloway for PM!!! Cheesy) nominate some? Would regional parties like Sinn fein and PC too? Can someone make a map?

Would the regional parties even exist?

I had the very same idea, a few months back, when during the Conservative Party Conference one of the papers said(I cant remember which one) said Howard would stand a better chance of winning a Presidential style election against Blair than a British Parliamentary style election.

Here are the Party nominees.
Labour
Sitting President Tony Blair
VP: Gordon Brown
Conservative
Presidential Candidate: Micheal Howard
VP: Micheal Ancram
LIb Dem
Presidential Candidate: Charles Kennedy
VP: Menzies Campbell

The Tories would never actually have Ancram as VP candidate because though he's Deputy Leader, he's a pontificating twat and Davies or Letwin would do much better.

My guess is the Tories would put up Cameron for vice president.

I would also think that the Lib Dems would win this election, because Menzies Campbell is so popular and Brown couldn't carry the Blair ticket.

The more people see of Menzies the Merciless (Note to... well... some people: you'll only get this if you know how Menzies is pronounced) the less they like him. He did a lot of damage to himself when he was defacto leader after Kennedy's sprog was born.

Still he's better than the other LD VP possibility; that loathsome, hypocritical, lying, Boss Tweed impersonating wretch, Simon Hughes.
