Ro Khanna COULD just wait for a Bay Area seat to open up (Shouldn't be that long; Honda, Lee, Eshoo, & even Pelosi can't stick around forever), or even just settle for an Assembly seat. Or hell, carpetbag a bit further to the east and run against Jeff Denham. But instead he'll keep running against Michael Honda, likely getting lower and lower amounts of support each time, making every Democrat in the area hate him in the process.

You guys realize he only came about 5,000 votes short of defeating Honda last year, right? It's only logical that he wants to give it a second try.

Can he at least run against Swallwell this time? Then no matter what, the bay area has at most one fake Democrat in Congress.

Khanna was originally from Swallwell's district. He was going to run against Pete Stark, but Swallwell got in first. He's been trying to replicate Swallwell's success ever since.

He doesn't get that people LIKE Michael Honda, whereas nobody really liked Pete Stark.

He is but people claim that Swallwell used Stark's atheism as a campaign issue, and a lot of liberals are mad at that.

He's pretty damn conservative for a D+16 bay area district.

Stark was a raving lunatic. I love Swalwell just for getting rid of that old codger.

Ro is a total joke and an ageist. He tried to trick Republicans into voting for him. Most Republicans in CA-17 would rather have Honda. He is not a conservative by any stretch.  They basically agree on everything - Ro's entire argument last time was that he was "fresh" and "new." Not really.

There's being a conservadem, and then there's being an outright corporate shill. He's a liberal that will vote with the Republicans if they pay him enough.

Honda is far from perfect, but I resent Khanna's district-shopping and it's not like a freshman in the minority party in Congress who unseated a senior incumbent in his own party will have any influence in Washington.

I get that Khanna appeals to the technocrats and anti- (political) Establishment types who are constantly looking for someone "fresh", but come on.
