Lumine: And we're off to a strong start to the election, as we have reached 20% turnout . Write-ins seem to be the norm with early voters, but for Senate and President (and we will consider them in the counts for the time being). A new ticket has also appeared on the horizon, and we shall dedicate some words to that later.

June Presidential Election:

Turnout: 20,76% (38 voters - Last Voter: Mr. X)

Dkrol (CR)/Altsomn (Fed): 31,57% (12)
Bore (Labor)/Nix (TPP): 28,94% (11)
Write-In: Flo (TPP)/PiT (Fed): 26,31% (10)
BaconBacon (IND)/Bacon King (Lab): 7,89% (3)
Write-In: Cranberry (TPP)/Oakvale (TPP): 2,63% (1)
Write-In: John Engle / Tmthforu: 2,63% (1)

Viva la Reflocion?

Lumine: The undisputed surprise of the night, a sudden effort has begun to place South Governor Flo and South Speaker PiT in a write-in presidential ticket, initiative embraced by Flo himself and by a large number of TPP voters. While normally this would strong affect the results, the write-in ticket is about to reach 25%, one of the strongest write-in performances even if they didn't recieve any more votes until the end of the election. Either way, keep an eye on Flo!

June Senate Elections:

Mideast Senate:

New Canadaland (Lab): 54,54% (6)
Lumine (CR) 45,45% (5)

Pacific Senate:

Turkisblau (TPP):100% (2)

Midwest Senate:

Snowguy (Lab): 100% (3)
RFayette (TPP) 0% (0)

Northeast Senate:

Rpryor (CR) 45,45% (5)
Talleyrand (Ind): 36,36% (4)
Write-in: Dr. Cynic: 9,09% (1)
Write-in: Barnes: 9,09% (1)

South Senate:

PiT (Fed) 58,33% (7)
Hagrid (TPP): 25% (3)
Write-in: SWE: 8,33% (1)
Write-in: These Nuts: 8,33% (1)

Keep in mind that write-ins for frivolous things like "Mickey Mouse" and stuff are ignored. Write-ins are only counted if the poster in question says they'll accept write-in votes explicitly or writes themselves in on their own ballot.

I was unsure of how to count them, actually, because I had the idea that they would go to the second preference in the hypothetical second round.

Given the level of support Flo/PiT has gotten already, I don't think it can be called a frivolous write-in.

Sad to see so many people wasting their first preference on distracting trivialities. Proud to cast my vote for President Bore.

...No one called it a frivolous write-in (although in all honestly it's a triviality as oakvale has pointed out). What I was referring to were write-ins that are ignored, in which the person (or people, as both are needed for a presidential ticket) has not written themselves in for that office or indicated on the candidate declaration thread that they will accept write-ins votes explicitly. For example, the write-in for Barnes in the Northeast Senate election would just be ignored and the first valid preference on Kal's ballot would be used unless Barnes did either of those actions.

The other situation is that the person being written in doesn't exist. For example, the write-in for "These Nuts" would be ignored.

Anyway, upon further investigation, PiT hasn't officially indicated he'll accept write-in votes anywhere, so technically all Flo/PiT votes so far should be disregarded. I am sure he will later, and then they can be counted.

Regardless, I'm not telling people how to vote or trying to make a political statement here. Just pointing out how the law treats these things.

I actually agree with Talleyrand now, although for practical purposes I will consider the Flo/PiT preferences given it's high number of votes.

June Presidential Election:

Turnout: 23,49% (43 voters - Last Voter: Sawx)

Bore (Labor)/Nix (TPP): 39,53% (17)
Dkrol (CR)/Altsomn (Fed): 30,23% (13)
Write-In: Flo (TPP)/PiT (Fed): 23,25% (10)
BaconBacon (Ind)/Bacon King (Lab): 6,97% (3)

June Senate Elections:

Mideast Senate:

New Canadaland (Lab): 53,84% (7)
Lumine (CR) 46,16% (6)

Pacific Senate:

Turkisblau (TPP):100% (2)

Midwest Senate:

Snowguy (Lab): 100% (4)
RFayette (TPP) 0% (0)

Northeast Senate:

Talleyrand (Ind): 53,84% (7)
Rpryor (CR) 38,46% (5)
Write-in: Dr. Cynic (Lab): 7,69% (1)

South Senate:

PiT (Fed) 66,66% (8 )
Hagrid (Ind): 25% (3)
Write-in: SWE: 8,33% (1)

Some of us have moral qualms with first-preferencing Labor... even if the candidate is perfectly sensible!

I can only speak for myself, but I just saw it as a way to register my discontent with the dull predictably of this presidential election and the Atlasian status quo in general.

Lumine: The Mideast Record Courier has already projected the race for President Bore, and while I won't call any of the races, current trends indicate that the results are unlikely to chance too much in the next seven hours. The Flo ticket has all but collapsed and Hagrid has conceded his race, and to further drama the Pacific is going through civil unrest and a duel between CJO Ebowed and Governor Simfan, many hoping the Administration will put an end to the madness soon. Either way, more results!

June Presidential Election:

Turnout: 54,09% (99 voters - Last Voter: Lief)

Bore (Labor)/Nix (TPP): 42,42% (42)
Dkrol (CR)/Altsomn (Fed): 34,34% (34)
Write-In: Flo (TPP)/PiT (Fed): 14,14% (14)
BaconBacon (Ind)/Bacon King (Lab): 9,99% (9)

June Senate Elections:

Mideast Senate:

New Canadaland (Lab): 62,5% (20)
Lumine (CR) 37,5% (12)

Pacific Senate:

Turkisblau (TPP): 90,91% (10)
None of the above: : 9,09% (1)

Midwest Senate:

Snowguy (Lab): 66% (8 )
RFayette (TPP) 16,6% (2)
Write-in: Hasehmite (Other): 8,33 (1)
Write-in: Ilikeverin (Other): 8,33% (1)

Northeast Senate:

Talleyrand (Ind): 60,86% (14)
Rpryor (CR) 34,78% (8 )
Write-in: Dr. Cynic (Lab): 4,34% (1)

South Senate:

PiT (Fed) 60% (12)
Hagrid (Ind): 35% (7)
Write-in: SWE: 5% (1)
