Eastern front WWI.  There are documentations of Russian soldiers being instructed to grab the gun of the soldier in front of him once he had died because they were so insufficiently supplied.  The Germans literally mowed them down for the first two years.

Eastern Front WW2 had 27 million Russians Killed and 80% of all German deaths. Each of the battles were no mercy no surrender type battle and civilians were treated horribly by the Germens

It didn't get as much attention but the casualty, attrition and disease rates were the worst on the eastern front in WW1, no matter Russian, Austro-Hungarian, German or other
