I don't really see any way I can support this.

Why not?

Anyhow I think it's a good idea for us to incorporate bicycles into our infrastructure, this would obviously be present in new city construction, not rural areas where it makes no sense to ride a bike as your primary vehicle.

Since GM's no longer do cost estimates, I would like you to come up with something of a cost estimate. My support depends on something like one - I don't want this to turn into some extravagant project that gives us little benefit to the community.

I'd rather us to only do this in cities with a minimum of 30,000 people, I'd be open to raising the city # limit (since there are plenty of towns here with more than 30k people).

I don't see why there can't be bike lanes where they already exist.

This doesn't destroy bike lanes that are already there though Tongue

If we can afford this I'm fine with it. I like riding my bike!

What do y'all think the minimum city size for a project like this should be?

At least 100,000 I'd say. Is that reasonable?

Yeah, at least a quarter million would be smart, maybe even higher than that.

Flo, do you have a decent list of cities with populations over 250,000 (I think that would be slightly less than 100, considering the top 100 cities list seems to start at 300,000 or so).

I thought a list would be easier to find than it has proven to be.

The list length seems good, or is that not what you have in mind?

Yes, I think 250,000 is appropriate.

That's a good list. 100,000 was too small of a threshold.
