In 2014, I calculated each U.S. President's average annual presidential salary converted to 2014 dollars and posted the list here in Feb 2015.  In Nov 2015, I updated the list to 2015 dollars.  The results are listed below in descending order rounded to the nearest $1000.  I used the calculator at davemanuel.com/inflation-calculator.php, which gets its data from oregonstate.edu/cla/polisci/sahr/sahr (sorry, the software said I haven't posted enough to include links).  George Washington and John F. Kennedy chose not to accept their presidential salaries.  I did not take that into account, nor did I consider the $50,000 expense account that started in Harry Truman's second term or any pensions after leaving office.

It's interesting how radically it seems to have changed. Of course, nothing too extravagant. The net worth of all of our Presidents is noteworthy as well.
Washington is estimated to have a net worth of $525 million (in 2010 USD)
I'm not surprised that you say JFK and Washington did not accept their salaries considering how much money they both had.
