I heard in an interview Don Siegelman, former Democratic governor of Alabama mention that prior to losing his re-election bid he was considering getting into the 2004 election. If he had might he have had a shot at the Democratic nomination? Makes sense that Democrats would want to go with another southern governor at that point.
