Question: why is Sneakers O'Toole actually funny, BRTD?

1-It's completely random. Even by the standards of Family Guy it comes out of nowhere.
2-Brian, who is normally the sane voice of reason, is the one introducing such an absurd and out of nowhere character. And in a completely serious deadpan way as well.
3-The clip is quite deep. It makes you keep thinking who Sneakers O'Toole is and the deeper meaning. See this.

Anyway, the idea that a show needs to have a "progressive message" is one of the most ridiculous  things I have ever heard- just behind the idea that Family Guy is more than a silly adult cartoon and actually has a "progressive message".

What? Family Guy constantly trashes right wingers and right wing mindsets (see this) and has episodes all the time promoting progressive causes like gay marriage, legalizing marijuana, and trashing the Tea Party.

Plus Family Guy had probably the most savage attack on US imperialism ever shown on network TV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSZosqXOyc0

Gay Marriage: Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride (Episode 4 of the entire series - aired in 1997 when it was actually a risk to do something like that)
Gay Adoption/The Absurdity of Civil Unions: Follow That Egg!
Gay Conversion Camps: Cartman S**** - Portrayed quite hauntingly I might add
Transgender: The Cis-sy (and I hope you know that Family Guy would not be positive if it did a transgender episode...errr cutaway)
(Yes, they had the other stupid one but even our own ozona and sonora claimed not to be offended by that because "Dolphin Broflovski was worth it." Plus they left Mr. Garrison a woman for a while.)

Marijuana: Medicinal Fried Chicken (though I admit, Family Guy tackled this topic just as well with a nice song)

TEA Party: Never really got an episode like the Family Guy propaganda, but they were portrayed as an angry old white guy mad in T.M.I. (with a little more negativity than I will write out).

Family Guy actually did do an episode about transsexualism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quagmire%27s_Dad

You are right. I did forget that. One I enjoyed no doubt (Brian's reaction was pretty classic and quite unprogressive for someone like him), but still nowhere near as much as The Cis-sy which was a masterpiece even for a South Park episode.

Just watched a random South Park episode and it wasn't right wing at all. If anything it was left wing. I guess it just depends on who their targets are for a particular episode.

I've never met anyone else who cared about the ideological bent of a cartoon.

This is a prime example of an "analyses" pulled straight out of author's ass.

BRTD, you're looking for a hidden context that just isn't there.

South Park is a bit more than "a cartoon".  It's a cartoon and all, but it has more relavance than your average child's entertainment block.

TBH, Sneakers O'Toole was funny until I met BRTD. Talking about the same joke over and over again makes the joke not funny anymore.

Well there's FreedomHawk who has bashed Family Guy for Tea Party bashing. Also some veterans groups complained about the Vietnam Memorial joke.

Is FreedomHawk really the company you want to keep on this?

Given all these times South Park bashed right wing politics and ideology, calling them a "right wing propaganda" is very... BRTDsque.

Tell us, Zack, are you getting some kind of masochistic pleasure from being owned by the people from around the world and around political spectrum, whenever you posting on things not related to political geography, or you just really don't get it?

Fascinating, how you just glossed over the parts of the post that contradicted the point you're trying to make, which was  all of it. I mean he clearly gave examples of South Park taking a "progressive" stance on things.

To paraphrase something I said to dead0man once, even if South Park is left wing 49% of the time and right wing 51% of the time, that still makes it a net right wing show...and thus absolute garbage. I prefer my entertainment to be all liberal, all the time.

We get that, we just think it makes you a really peculiar person and are perennially amazed by it.

Well it's not uncommon, as Family Guy fits the bill, 30 Rock certainly did too. And even though The Daily Show is more like left wing 90% of the time, John Oliver's show has done a great job of being essentially 100% liberal slanted all the time, and it's wonderful.

Also consider this: Do you think Stone and Parker would have much issue with what krazen posts? They agree almost completely with his worldview.

Yes, because they are not sociopaths.
