Statement

I desire to make a statement on the President Lumine's announcement about his decision to not run for a second term as President of the Republic of Atlasia.
I'm not a veteran of Atlasia, but I can say that Lumine is one of the best Presidents of the history of our Republic. I'm working with him as White House Chief of Staff and I can confirm that his spirit of service is impressive.
President Lumine's term is not finished and I will be proud to work with him from January 2 as At-Large Senator.
I obviously respect his choice and if he wouldn't be able to work at 100% for our Republic, he did the best choice.
I hope to see him running for an office soon because Atlasia needs Lumine and his service.

Farewell Address to the Midwest Althing.

Thank you. Thank you all.
This is my last day as Archduke of the Midwest Althing.
I remember as if it's today the day when Maxwell contacted me to join the game and I say thanks to him and thanks to all the people that I have meet during my year in the Midwest Althing.
Thanks to Governors Maxwell, Lumine, Windjammer, Arturo Belano and LeBron FitzGerald and thanks to Representatives GAworth, RR1997, Vega, Gass3268, Brewer, Sol, Spamage, Hashemite and sorry if I forgot anyone.
During my time in the Althing I gave my contribution to pass a lot of common sense legislations and I'm proud of this.
I'm sure that GAworth will be a great President Pro Tempore that will take all my functions until the next Archduke election. Also I'm glad to see Rooney running for the office of Archduke and I hope that Governor LeBron Fitzgerald will appoint soon a Representative, so that the Althing can return to work for the citizens of our region.
I'm glad to see that our region is now the second best region of Atlasia in the economic forecast, with unemployment at 5.8%, with an improvement of 3.9% compared to December, when our region was the next to last in the economic forecast. But the Senate and the Althing have still work to done.
Thank you all. God bless you, God bless the Midwest and God bless Atlasia!

On reelection of Bore as Speaker of the Senate.

I desire to congratulate with Senator Bore of Northeast for his re-election as Speaker of the Senate. He was an active Speaker in the past and I'm sure that he will be active in the future.

Summary | PM | Post

Amendments to Civil Rights Act, Policy Report Act.

As said in my Senate campaign, I'll work with all the Senators to improve things that I think can be improved.
Today, I presented two amendments. One amendment to the Civil Rights Act and one amendment to the Policy Report Act.

Civil Rights Act. On this matter, I listened the doubts of the President and of the Senators, of all parties and I presented an amendment to remove Parts 1.1 and 1.2 of the Act, introducing a federal found of $1million for worthwhile projects for the areas of Native Americans. Senator TNF of Midwest has objected and so there will be a vote on my amendment and I hope that the Senators will support my proposal.

Policy Report Act. The Vice President isn't powerful in our Republic and is litterally invisible. So, I presented an amendment to the Policy Report Act that provides that the Vice President of the Republic of Atlasia shall run this wonderful project, proposed by Senator Cranberry of Pacific.

Summary | PM | Post

Presidential, Midwest, Mideast and IDS Endorsements.

The presidential election is coming and I desire to make an endorsement.
Bore and Bacon King are both good Senators but I'm endorsing Secretary of State Potus2036 and IDS Speaker Maxwell. Both are great people that are working well for their nation and region and so I'm sure that they will make a very good job in the White House.

On the Midwest legislative election, I'm endorsing Representative GAworth and Citizen BaconBacon96. I'm sure that they will do a great job for my home Region. Also good luck to Representatives Gass3268 and Joe Mad.

On the Mideast legislative election, I'm endorsing the ticket of Governor Tmthforu94 and TDAS04. About the Assembly, I can't make an endorsement, because I haven't well followed the campaign, but I can say that my friend JCL will be a good assemblyman. Good luck to the other candidates!

On the IDS election, I'm endorsing Maxwell, Duke and X.

Summary | PM | Post

New legislation introduced in the Senate.

Today, I presented a legislation, an amendment, for the institution of public non binding consultations.
The Senators are elected by the people and I think that on the most important issues (as bicameral or consolidation, for example), the people should indicate to us the way to follow.
This is a public non binding consultation. Not binding, but the Senate should morally be obliged to follow the results of that consultation.
In a Republic, the people govern, and I think that this is a good proposal, but some parts or details can be not liked by the other Senators, so I'm opening to all thoughts of the citizens of Atlasia and of the Senators.

Also I'd like to say that when the question of the lawsuit of Senator Windjammer of Mideast against Speaker Bore will be resolved, I will present a resolution that makes clear that 2/3 of the Senators are 7 Senators.

Amendment to 21st Amendment.

Today, I presented an amendment at the 21st Amendment.
As said in the Senate floor, the distinction between President - Vice President and Senators is important, because if a Senator doesn't post in the Atlas Fantasy Government board, he's simple not doing his job.
About the number of days on impeachment, I have kept 7 days, but it can be changed, so I hope that the Senators will support my amendment and if they want to change the number days, I think that a new amendment can be presented after the passage of my proposal.

Summary | PM | Post

On CRA and overriding Speaker.

Civil Rights Act. I think that the Senate has done a very good job on the text with a really good improvement from the start. Together, with my colleagues and with the help of SoIA HagridofTheDeep, we examined a good number of amendments.
I voted Aye, but considered that the President will present a redraft of the bill, I changed my vote to Abstain, but I think that the actual text is not bad and I'm awaiting for the President's text. On the protests. I think that anyone has the right to protest, to peacefully protest and the right to create a militia (as happened with Shua and Senator TNF) and at the same time I'm condemning the attack at Senator TNF's life. Atlasia don't needs violence acts.

Overriding Speaker. Nothing against Speaker Bore, but I think that overriding his decision is the best thing to done. 2/3 of Senators, in my interpretation, are 7 Senators and the text had 6 Ayes. Speaker Bore added the vote of Senator Bacon King, but it was after the ending of vote and this can create a precedent.

Don't forget that the Town Hall is still open!

Today, I introduced a resolution in the Senate. I introduced the Two-Thirds Resolution, in order to establish that two-thirds of Senators is 7 Senator. I hope that my resolution will have the support of my colleagues, in order to have no doubts on the 2/3 number as happened recently.

I know it's a weird compliment coming from me and I figure that some will accuse me of deeply disturbing partisan trickery here, but I find it excellent that you dedicate yourself so much to the act of campaigning, and I find it despicable and/or indicative of your current party's trajectory that not a single member of your party has even bothered to comment in this thread once.

It is Deeply Disturbing that you have taken an excellent member of the Federalist Party and then used hijacked his thread to take a stab at the Federalist Party as a whole, just give him a compliment for crying out loud instead of making this all bigger than it actually is.

It's actually not. If I were to see a similar situation on my own side, I'd be genuinely upset, too (but unlike the current Federalist leadership, I would have actually fixed the problem). It speaks volumes about how far the Federalist Party has fallen. Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant, but my own party actually requires a vibrant Right (or at least one that engages at all) in order to remain relevant itself, so it's not disingenuous at all for me to call out this recent trend of deeply disturbing developments. Likewise, I paid him a genuine compliment and think that he very well may be one of only a handful of Federalists remaining that can reverse the course.

First of all, thanks for the compliment.
This thread is for all the citizens of Atlasia, regardless of political affiliation. It received comments from people of all political affiliations and I'm happy of this. So I don't think that this fact can be indicative of the Federalist Party's trajectory. What we will do in Nyman and the results of the next election will be indicative of the party's trajectory.

Amendment to Electoral Reform Amendment.

Today, I introduced an amendment to the Electoral Reform Amendment. A lot of concerns were pointed out by my colleagues and by some Atlasians and I decided to present an amendment to improve the original text. As said in the floor, I like the idea of districts, but the text how it is now needs to be changed and I hope that the my amendment will pass. My amendment is only a small step, but these steps are necessary if we want to solve the problem of electoral reform.

Summary | PM | Post

Update on legislations.

Civil Rights Act of 2015. The Senate is voting on the text . The original version has been significantly improved, thanks to the suggestions of the President and of my colleagues and I'm happy to vote for it as it stands.

Public Consultation Bill. The Senate will pass this text that will improve the relations between the Senate and the public. I pointed out a criticism that was clarified with an amendment and I'm proud to vote for the passage of the bill.

Electoral Reform Amendment. After the passage of various amendments, we are still debating and working to improve the original text, with very good results. I'm hopefully that it will be improved.

Two thirds resolution. Now I proposed a new amendment to the resolution on the 2/3 number in case that it is a rational number, in order to clarify it for the future and I'm very confident that the Senate will pass this resolution.

Kurdish Solidarity Act of 2014. After that Senator TNF decided to retire the act because of the text change, we are voting on Windjammer assuming sponsorship. I voted Aye and looks like that the extremist move of Senator TNF will be rejected.

Cabinet Reform Amendment. We are now debating on an amendment on the GM removal and after this I think that there will be a final vote and I'm hopefully that the amendment will pass.

Confirmation of Superique for SoS. He did a very good job in the past and I'm sure he will do it again. From his answers I can say that he is prepared for the job. I will vote for the confirmation.

On attack at Census Bureau.

All of us are shocked for the attack at the Census Bureau of Atlasia. Like all Atlasians, my thoughts are with the family and the friends of Aaron Green, the night guard victim of a terrible attack at our freedom and democracy.
We lost a man that sacrificed his life for the security of our great nation and all of us are grateful to him for his service.
