If Republicans can be described as capitalists (hardly laissez-faire), then Democrats can be described as socialists (though hardly Soviet-esque).

The top tax rate when Reagan left office was 28%. Bush I hiked it to 31%. Then Clinton hiked it to 40%.

And yes, that is exactly why I am on this list... except that I'm not on this list.

How is Keystone Phil far and away in first place?
Even if you think you have to be conservative in order to be a nut, Richius is far nuttier than Phil is.

The point is that once elected to the highest office, a "conservative Democrat" is just a Democrat.

No.

"As a matter of fact and law, the governing rights of the States are all of those which have not been surrendered to the National Government by the Constitution or its amendments. Wisely or unwisely, people know that under the Eighteenth Amendment Congress has been given the right to legislate on this particular subject*, but this is not the case in the matter of a great number of other vital problems of government, such as the conduct of public utilities, of banks, of insurance, of business, of agriculture, of education, of social welfare and of a dozen other important features. In these, Washington must not be encouraged to interfere."

--Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 1930, referring to the Prohibition of Alcohol, passed constitutionally by Amendment 18 and enacted by the Volstead Act.

What happened that FDR?

What happened to the Clinton who wouldn't raise taxes on the middle class?

Not all conservative Democrats are like that.  You think Harry Byrd would become a socialist if he were elected president?

I vote for me... I've got some odd views that don't usually come out when discussing politics. When I get some time, I'll show off a few of them.

1/5 of an acre to vote, his views on Bayh, the fact that he seems to think anyone to the left of Santorum is a liberal

Why is Bandit not listed?  He's the clear winner for me.

Marxism-Leninism-Maoism

mainly based on the asinine comments he makes in the debate with Dibble.  Other than that he's got some really crazy views, I think moreso than BRTD or opebo.  I think BRTD and opebo in a lot of cases don't really mean what they say or they're being sarcastic.  I think MLM though is the only one who truly feels Communism is right.

BRTD doesn't really say much that's "nutty" or "extreme."  I think he's actually pretty moderate: he's only pro-choice for the first trimester, he doesn't think we need any more gun control, and he doesn't believe in feeding people to lions.

opebo is definitely not being sarcastic.  I'm convinced he's real.  Don't ask for the evidence. :0

phil, isnt nutty, just a follower.  actually at his age, i was probably just as conservative as him.

the two biggest nuts are bandit and opebo.  the former is harmless, but the latter frightens me sometimes.

Opebo, of course. He's a pedophile. But a very close second would be Bandit, who believes that Bush stole every state Kerry lost.

Two points on this libel:

1) You have no evidence.  I'm assuming you propose that anyone who wants to lower the age of consent wishes to have sex with children.  Obviously this is faulty logic, and besides, lowering said age to 12 would not effect children, only post-pubescent sexually adult persons.

2) What does this issue have to do with being a 'nut'?

I certainly am a child molestor. Got a problem with that?

Nothing, because everyone knows pedophilia is normal, right?

Heck yeah. You'd have to be a religious to not understand...
