Useful in proving how much of a sham "market socialism" is, but ultimately a fairly inconsequential figure, as far as the international socialist movement goes. Still, I'd definitely say that he was better than just about any of his counterparts during that period (with the exception, perhaps, of Fidel Castro). Lean FF.
