He passed the ABO exam and became a board-certified opthalmologist, but later founded his own certification board to compete with the ABO (because he thought the ABO standards were too lax). His certification eventually expired after ten years and he saw no need to take the ABO exam again.

FWIW, I think people on Atlas bitch about "Hillarybots" way too much. Besides, I just defend Rand against criticisms that make no since or are flat-out inaccurate. When people criticize his actual positions, I don't respond by claiming they're bigoted against Kentuckians.
