Now that the midterms are over, the next batch of elections are upon us. It appears Steven Sweeney, the president of the New Jersey Senate, appears likely to run on the democratic side.

However, he certainly isn't alone. Jersey City mayor Steve Fulop might be a candidate, and an online poll had him leading Sweeney - http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/01/poll_would_you_vote_for_fulop_or_sweeney_for_governor_if_2017_elections_were_today.html

On the GOP side, if Christie runs and wins for president, then Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno would become governor, but there would be a special election if it was 60 days before the next general election.

This could shape up to be an interesting election, much more so than 2013 was IMO.

Both Sweeney and Fulop could win, though I personally prefer Fulop.

Republicans are crazy if they nomination Lonegan for Governor.
