Because Atlasia was so interesting and fun before this happened, and no one had ever complained about pre-Thursday Night Massacre Atlasia being "boring" or "broken" Roll Eyes  The recent chaos is literally the best thing that has ever happened to Atlasia.  The best way for it to end is for folks like our Governors, President Tyrion, etc to figure out innovative ways to respond to new developments.  For once the game isn't about power-struggles between the same old people, doing things like legalizing incest for shock value, or trivial Senate procedure.  There are actual problems now that require people to break the usual routine and actually respond to things everyone hasn't already seen play out two million times already.  Who cares if some are a little more realistic than others, the game is feels fresh and fun in a way it never has before.  There is no reason to stop "this" with some boring deus ex machina and every reason to keep letting it play itself out and see what happens.  All that will happen when this stops is the usual generic complaints about inactivity and vague platitudes about "the game is broken and I'm gonna safe it with muh game reform (even though pretty much every idea has been tried ten times already)."  Stuff like the Northeast legalizing incest for shock value are like a desperate cry for help.  There is nothing new left to fix or legislate about so we get more and more ridiculous as the game dies a slow and boring death.  Short of a total reboot, a situation like what's currently going on in Atlasia is the only thing that could save the game from itself.  The board needed to be completely flipped over and that's just what's happening.  Hopefully, it marks the beginning of a realignment in the structure of the game!

Can we have a petition to arrest X and try him for crimes against Atlasia while we're at it? Literally no one finds your contributions to this "state of affairs" entertaining. Cringeworthy would be putting what you've been doing lightly.

I'm sorry guys, but this won't stop so easy and swift - after all we have a refugee crisis in the state of Kansas, two regions (or more their governors) at each other's throats, a massive disruption of the Northeast, the city of New York severely damaged... If you think this is going to end quickly, I will have to disappoint you. If we are to keep our claim that we are a more-or-less "real" simulation, than we will have to play out this to the end, if we like it or not. We don't have a GM now, but I would really love to see our economical numbers; kill me if inflation is not skyrocketing - this is a time where we can do many things, and if we tackle this rightly but committed to the cause of solving this, we will solve this. But this all has just begun, mind that!

This can be fixed as easily as it began, provided that the dunce caucus causing all the trouble (and egging it on) are publicly shamed into relenting. If that doesn't work, the obvious solution to this is to prosecute the offenders and bar them from participating. Simple really.

Quite frankly I couldn't care less if you find my posts cringeworthy or not, TNF.  You've posted plenty that I find cringeworthy (albeit also some things I genuinely enjoyed), so right back at you, I guess Tongue  I mean it's too bad you don't find it entertaining, but that's your loss.  As for your petition, fire away, but I should note that I've broken no laws.  So you're welcome try me, but if I get anything resembling a fair trial you'll lose.  But knock yourself out; it could be fun Smiley  Come to think of it, I'm not exactly sure what you're beef with me is considering you felt the need to randomly post "no one gives a sh**t X" or something like that in another thread made.  For what it's worth, I have about as much respect for your post-Thursday Night Massacre contributions as you do for mine Tongue

The problem is, the stuff happened, if you like it or not. We can of course sue Snowstalker and Deus and Alfred and Hash (and for you also Simfan and X and whoever said a word that night) , and whoever, but this isn't getting Lower Manhattan back to where it was before, as well as the Stock Market, our economy and everything - we were a step away from a second civil war! But your response just proves that you didn't really read my post...

Yes, please. Hey, I can also make a thread and say "I hired soldiers and now I'm the King of the Pacific" - how entertaining!

Seriously, the spamming of the fantasy election board we are seeing is just annoying. Please stop it.

Wait did people seriously legalize incest?

Yep, and polygamous marriages, and watching porn as a 5 year old.

And I'd argue if what I've posted is spam (which it obviously isn't), then at least some (probably all) of those types of bills are spam too, especially considering that a number were basically introduced under the banner of "hey, let's see if we can get away with this sh!t because muh shock value."

WTF.

Well it's time for me to return to Atlasia and put all my efforts into re-outlawing incest.

Indeed lame, but so was the pre-civil war Atlasia.

It seems Xahar was right. We ought to reset Atlasia and start over. This one is broken and neither playing by the book nor playing rebels won't fix it.

Ignoring the fact that you clearly didn't read theCranberry's post, let's all take a moment to appreciate that TNF's response to the idea that *gasp* some people might actually disagree with his opinion about what would be best for the game (those bastards! Angry ) is to literally advocate "public shaming" (bullying Huh) of whoever disagrees with him and then simply expelling them if they stand by their views.  TNF, you are the last person in the game who is in any position to bash other players for having radical views or opinions that are somewhat outside the mainstream (and it hasn't even been established that my views are radical or even a minority viewpoint, all we know is something like 7-10 people in a game of God knows how many players don't agree with me).

Is anyone actually reading what X has been posting? I haven't been, and I feel like I haven't really missed anything, to be perfectly honest. All of the 'radicals' in this game that have introduced legislation and gotten it passed, that has upset your liberal sensibilities, have done a lot more in the way of making this game interesting and entertaining than literally anything you've ever posted here. Your Atlasia career has essentially been confined to whining when no one wants to make all drugs illegal again, and then subsequently reintroducing that legislation, and then whining when no one finds you entertaining or funny.

I don't pretend that I command a majority of support or even a sliver of it. I frankly don't care if the majority of people in this game hate me or dislike what it is I do. I'm part of this game because I want to experiment with legislation and build political alliances and act as a politician in a fantasy universe, something which I think more of us are honestly inclined toward rather than an endless, nonsensical crapfest between the self-appointed 'saviors' of this game.

Well, if you're not even bothering to reading my posts, I guess there's no reason for anyone to take what you say about them seriously Smiley  Anyway, hopefully someday you'll have an informed opinion on this instead of angry rants!  If you don't truly don't care if people in this game hate or dislike you, then you should know what a hopeless task your "public shaming" is because I don't either with regard to this.  Ignoring the fact that there's no reason for me to be ashamed about making the game more fun, you're gonna have to do a lot better than this if you hope to stand a snowball's chance in hell of making me stop trying to make the game more fun (spoiler: you're gonna keep failing and even if I stop for some reason, it sure as hell won't be because of you; don't flatter yourself TNF).  Anyway, I have stuff to do so, I gotta go; be back later though.  Been fun Smiley
