Hillary 2008; Schedule for Hillary Clinton

January 9, 2008

Speech/Rally at the Superior Dome, Marquette, Michigan (With Chuck Schumer and James Blanchard)

I know people think we're out of it, but we improved six points and two positions between Iowa and New Hampshire, we've picked up fifteen delegates along the way, and we're already second here in Michigan. There is no reason to believe that we won't walk away the winner here in the Wolverine State!

GOTV in Ishpeming, Michigan

Tour National Ski Hall of Fame and Museum, Ishpeming, Michigan (With Jeanne Shaheen, Dick Gardner, John La Falce, and Robert Baines)

January 10, 2008

GOTV in Escanaba, Michigan

GOTV in Gladstone, Michigan

Speech/Rally at Center Ice Arena, Traverse City, Michigan (With John Melcher, Mitch Landrieu and Tim Kaine)

Senator Bayh may live next door, but he's not the Democrat Michigan should be looking out. He talks free trade, not as a way to open markets to the world, but just as a means in and of themselves. We already have NAFTA, CAFTA and several agreements with individual countries, so why would we need another Free Trade agreement with these countries, as some have proposed? In addition, these Free Trade agreements have devastated Detroit's auto industry, the Steel Industry in Southeast Ohio, and even the Gambling Industry in Atlantic City is dying thanks to this free trade.

January 11, 2008

GOTV in Kingsley, Michigan

GOTV in McBain, Michigan

GOTV in Harrison, Michigan

GOTV in St. Louis, Michigan

January 12, 2008

GOTV in Alma, Michigan

GOTV in Portland, Michigan

GOTV in Grand Ledge, Michigan

GOTV in Lansing, Michigan (With David Bonior, Gary Peters, James Blanchard and Lynn Rivers)

January 13, 2008

GOTV in Chesaning, Michigan

GOTV in Reese, Michigan

GOTV in Caro, Michigan

GOTV in Gageville, Michigan

January 14, 2008

GOTV in Flint, Michigan

GOTV in Mount Morris, Michigan

GOTV in Fenton, Michigan

GOTV in Brighton, Michigan

January 15, 2008

GOTV in Ann Arbor, Michigan (With Gary Peters and Dick Celeste)

GOTV in Greektown, Detroit, Michigan (With Marc Morial and Kwesi Mfume)

GOTV in Corktown, Detroit, Michigan (With Marc Morial and Kwesi Mfume)

Election Night Rally at Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan (With all-Michigan Based Surrogates, Bill/Chelsea, and Dick Celeste)

Good to see you all here. I'm here to announce that after thinking it over with my family, I will suspend my presidential campaign. This was not an easy decision by any means, and I'm sure I will have disappointed some of my supporters with this announcement, but I feel now that it's the right thing to do. After some of the past primaries, the chances of victory have been growing slimmer, and it's best to end this campaign on a high note rather than to drag it out. I'm deeply gracious for all of the support I've been getting across the country these last few months, and I'll never forget it. Make no mistake: the fight for liberty isn't over by a long shot. With the campaign past me now, though, it's time for the party to unite. My criticisms of President Giuliani are on the public record, but I believe he is the best man to lead the nation for the next four years. I endorse his bid for reelection and I will do whatever it takes for him to win in November. It's been a good ride, to be sure, but I now urge my fellow Republicans to come together and fight for conservative values with the President!

Yeah. I can't campaign this week, so I drop out of the Democratic Primaries.

Dean endorses Blanche Lincoln, since shes *gag* the least terrible candidate.

Breaking News: Howard Dean drops out; Endorses Lincoln
Breaking News: Howard Dean drops out; Endorses Lincoln

Howard Dean, front runner for the nomination abruptly ended his presidential campaign ahead of Michigan, throwing his support behind Blanche Lincoln. No word yet on Dean's reasoning, and it is unclear how his departure will shift the race in Michigan, where the polls showed an increasingly tight race.

To be fair to the other players I'm willing to extend this current round until today at 6pm est and then moving the next round (which I originally scheduled to close Friday) to Saturday...

Statement from the Giuliani Campaign

President Giuliani extends his deepest thanks to Governor Mark Sanford for his endorsement in his bid for re-election. The race was well needed, to establish and encourage debate within the Republican Party and the nation. Governor Sanford brought numerous issues to the forefront and will be a valuable asset to the campaign over these upcoming months.

Also, the Vice Presidential Search Committee has released it's final 'Short List' for the Vice Presidency. A remind that the President's running mate will be announced at a rally in Louisville, Kentucky next week.

Short List - Giuliani '08

Senator Tom Ridge (R-PA)
Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN)
Senator George Allen (R-VA)
Former Senator Zell Miller (D-GA)
Former Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AK)
Former Governor Ernie Fletcher (R-KY)

OOC: I appreciate it guys.

Brief Lincoln Schedule
Lincoln campaigned like a dog in Michigan leading up to their primary. Despite strong Numbers in South Carolina and Florida, she was determined to have a strong showing in Michigan. On January 9 and 10th she campaigned in Michigan while receiving the endorsement of representative Conyers. On January 11 she made it one day campaign stop in Florida to receive the endorsement of representative Alcee Hastings. Also on the 11th Oprah Winfrey published an editorial that was printed in the LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, and New York Times endorsing Lincoln for president. On January 12, with Dean endorser Sen. Obama in tow, Howard Dean officially endorsed Lincoln for president in Detroit. Lincoln and Dean then barnstormed the state together in support of her candidacy, finishing with a final rally in Ann Arbor on the day of the primary.

All Lincoln surrogates barnstormed in Michigan, Florida, and South Carolina during January 9 to the 15th.

The Lincoln campaign kept it's two successful ads on the air in Michigan, Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, and North Carolina.

Round 14: January 16-19, 2008

Michigan Primary: Republicans (100% Reported)
√ Rudy Giuliani: 85.1% (30)
Mark Sanford: 14.9%

President Giuliani cruised to a third straight victory, crushing Mark Sanford, who suspended his campaign before the primary and threw his support behind the President, calling him "the best man to lead the nation over the next four years." Sanford struggled to gain traction over the President throughout the pre-primary cycle and failed to gain any sense of momentum after losing badly in the early primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire. Giuliani, is expected to announce his pick for Vice President in the coming days and some speculations have pointed to Sanford being the choice, as a way of uniting the party.

Sanford's exit clears the way for Giuliani to become the party's nominee, and pundits call Sanford's withdrawal unites the party around the President, which is important as he takes on his Democratic opponents.

And then there were three! On the Democratic side, the race faced a major shakeup. Frontrunner Howard Dean abruptly ended his bid for President, right before the Michigan Primary. In his exit speech Dean endorsed Blanche Lincoln, some sources close to the campaign have suggested medical reasons were the cause for Dean's departure from the race.

As for the Michigan Primary Evan Bayh the long term favorite in Michigan looked to put a win on the board after two losses in Iowa and New Hampshire. Not unlike the previous contest the results were dragged out throughout the night, with Bayh, and trading leads throughout the night. Ultimately, Bayh won the primary, albeit by a narrower margin than previously expected, emphasizing the fluidity of the Democratic race.

The Republican primary now over -- the Democratic one looks to be one for the long haul...

Michigan Primary: Democrats (1% Reported)
Evan Bayh: 39.0%
Hillary Clinton: 33.6%
Blanche Lincoln: 25.4%
Other: 1.0%

Michigan Primary: Democrats (26% Reported)
Evan Bayh: 38.8%
Hillary Clinton: 34.8%
Blanche Lincoln: 25.5%
Other: 1.0%

√ Evan Bayh Wins Michigan Primary

Michigan Primary: Democrats (61% Reported)
√ Evan Bayh: 37.9%
Hillary Clinton: 34.0%
Blanche Lincoln 26.9%
Other: 1.2%

Michigan Primary: Democrats (100% Reported)
√ Evan Bayh: 37.9% (26)
Hillary Clinton: 34.1% (22)
Blanche Lincoln: 27.0% (15)
Other: 1.0%

Nevada Caucuses: Democrats (January 19)
Hillary Clinton: 33%
Evan Bayh: 32%
Blanche Lincoln: 24%
Undecided: 10%

South Carolina: Democrats (January 19)
Blanche Lincoln: 35%
