Attn: NRA membership - Vote on Proposed Bylaws

Here are the proposed Bylaws for the National Rifle Association of Atlasia.

I hereby open voting on these proposed Bylaws.

All members please vote either "aye" if you are in favor or "nay" if you are against the Bylaws.

The Bylaws will be approved once we have 17 votes in favor or will be rejected once we have 6 votes against.

Bylaws of the National Rifle Association of Atlasia[/b]

I.   Name

The name of the Association is the National Rifle Association of Atlasia, also referred to as the “NRA”.

II.   National Leadership (National Chairman and Vice-Chairman)

a.    Any duly registered member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) shall be qualified to hold the office of National Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the National Rifle Association of Atlasia (NRA).
b.   The Chairman and Vice-Chairman shall be elected by the members of the Association (NRA) at a National Convention and shall serve a “roughly” four (4) month term that begins and ends with the closing of the National Convention held before each Presidential election in the Republic of Atlasia.
c.   The Chairman and Vice-Chairman shall be elected in a popular vote of the Caucus membership via Preferential Voting.
d.   Only one (1) election will be conducted nationally, for the position of Chairman. Of the nominated candidates, whoever receives the most amount of preference votes shall be Chairman, and whoever receives the next greatest amount of preference votes shall be Vice-Chairman.
e.   If the Chairmanship becomes vacant, the Vice-Chairman shall become Chairman until the next Convention and has the right to appoint a Vice-Chairman to serve out the rest of the Vice-Chairman’s term.
f.   If the Vice-Chairmanship becomes vacant, the Chairman has the right to appoint a Vice-Chairman to serve out the rest of the Vice-Chairman’s term.
g.   If the Chairman or Vice-Chairman becomes inactive from the Atlas Fantasy Forums for a period of over one (1) month without prior notice, then the appropriate office shall become automatically vacant.

III.   Membership

a.   Any registered voter of the Atlas Fantasy Forums shall be eligible to become a member of the National Rifle Association of Atlasia (NRA) by simple declaration.
b.   Only the National Chairman and Vice-Chairman acting together in unison by public declaration on the Atlas Fantasy Forums shall be able to refuse a registered voter membership in the Association (NRA).
c.   If the above-stated situation does occur, only a public petition on the Atlas Fantasy Forums signed by a majority of Association (NRA) members can grant the above-stated registered voter membership in the Association (NRA).
d.   If said registered voter is denied membership, he may reapply again two (2) months from the date he was denied membership by the National Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
e.   Expulsion of members from the Association (NRA) shall follow these guidelines:
i.   A public petition (with grievances) must be posted by a member of the Association (NRA) on the Atlas Fantasy Forums signed by one-third (1/3) of the registered membership.
ii.   Following the certification of the signatures, a public voting thread on the Atlas Fantasy Forums shall be started lasting for a span of seventy-two (72) hours time, and if a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote for expulsion, said member shall be expelled from the organization.
iii.   Said member shall not be allowed to rejoin the organization until one (1) year after his/her expulsion.

IV.   National Conventions

a.   National Conventions shall be started no earlier than four (4) weeks and no later than two (2) weeks before a Presidential election in the Republic of Atlasia, unless extraordinary circumstances are presented to the National Rifle Association of Atlasia (NRA) by the chair of the National Convention.
b.   National Conventions shall be ended no sooner than one (1) week and no later than two (2) weeks after being officially started by the chair unless extraordinary circumstances are presented to the Association (NRA) by the chair of the National Convention.
c.   All motions before the National Convention must pass by a majority vote to be adopted.
d.   At National Conventions, elections to the Association’s (NRA) National Leadership shall be held.
e.   The Chairman shall chair the National Convention. If the Chairman shall be absent during the time when the National Convention will be held, then the Vice-Chairman shall chair the National Convention.
f.   At any necessary time, the National Chairman and Vice-Chairman, acting in unison, may call an Emergency Meeting of the Association (NRA). This Meeting shall be started at the earliest possible convenience for the two (2) above-stated parties.
g.   Article 4, Section c of these Bylaws shall apply to all motions presented at the above-stated Meeting; Article 4, Section e of these Bylaws shall apply to the chairing of the above-stated Meeting.; Article 5, Section d of these Bylaws shall apply to the amending of the Platform during the above-stated Meeting.

V.   Platform

a.   At the earliest possible time, a Draft Platform will be submitted to the National Rifle Association of Atlasia’s (NRA) membership in a National Convention, an Emergency Meeting, or a public thread on the Fantasy Election Boards and, after a period of review, be adopted as the Official Platform of the Association (NRA) with a three-fourths (3/4) vote of the Association’s membership.
b.   Amendments to the Platform should be submitted in a format where changes are marked as additions, deletions, or substitutions.
c.   Amendments to the Platform should be submitted during the National Convention.
d.   Amendments to the Platform require a majority vote of the members of the Assocation (NRA).

VI.   Endorsements

a.   If possible, endorsements for any and all applicable elected positions shall be made via a motion before the Convention.
b.   Endorsements will only be granted if a candidate receives a majority of votes in this above-stated motion
c.   If this is not possible, the Chairman shall be able to conduct a vote of the National Rifle Association of Atlasia (NRA) in a public thread in the Fantasy Elections Board for endorsements for any and all applicable elected positions. Article 6, Section b of these Bylaws shall apply to this vote and all Association members in good standing shall have the opportunity to vote in this thread.
d.   This vote must occur no later than five (5) days before the beginning of the election in which the endorsement is being granted and shall last for a span of seventy-two (72) hours time.

VII.   Adoption and Amendments

a.   The National Rifle Association of Atlasia’s (NRA) Bylaws shall, after a period of review, be adopted with a three-fourths (3/4) vote of the Association’s membership.
b.   The National Rifle Association of Atlasia’s (NRA) Bylaws shall be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members of the Association (NRA). Any member may propose an amendment either on the Atlas Fantasy Boards or during the National Convention. The Chairman shall call for a vote on the proposal as soon as possible.
