Tough call between Dubya and Nixon, but I'll have to go with Dubya: the damage he did to the country looks like it will be far worse in the long run than Nixon's general crookedness and betrayal of the public trust.

Bush 43, followed closely by Nixon, followed a little less closely by Reagan.

In order of worst to best

1. Obama
2. W. Bush
3. Nixon
4. Johnson
5. Carter
6. Reagan

I would follow up and say Obama and Bush are in the same league of horribleness. Johnson, Nixon, and Carter are all in one similar group too but significantly trailing the two, and Reagan is the best out of the 6.

How do you justify saying that Obama is worse than Bush?

You think that Johnson is better than Nixon, but Obama is worse than Bush? That's really interesting.

Edit: And grouping Carter with Johnson and Nixon seems really harsh…

I voted Nixon too, I couldn't believe Carter got more votes than him.

I don't think it is possible to declare Reagan a failure. We can debate Reaganomics until our ears fall off, but he managed to create the cookie-cutter template that every single Republican (and some Democrats) use to this day. He redefined conservatism and managed to convince a nation it was its natural state. Compare him to Thatcher, who on paper has a similar legacy; but instead set the UK against itself. Don't get me wrong, I hate many of the legacies of the administration: the "welfare queens" rhetoric, Iran-Contra, the Saudi deals, the Moral Majority and the support for apartheid comes to mind, but he can't really be called a failed president.

I voted Dubya, because of all sorts of reasons that I don't have time to list.

I wanted to choose Obama, but LBJ, Nixon, and Bush 43 are much better candidates for the title.

None of these are "bad" Presidents, but Obama's probably the worst on the list due to his lack of effectiveness and administrative acumen.

Anyone who thinks that Obama is a worse president than Nixon (especially the "libertarians" saying as much) is an idiot and an ignorant.
