When I think of 'producerism', I think of Pat Buchananism: basically a view that 'national' economic interests (light industry, agribusiness, the "middle class" rhetorically but rarely in ) are to be favored above export-oriented 'international' economic interests (heavy industry, finance capital, etc.), and that the lumpenproletariat ought to be either exploited or imprisoned.

Usually this is a movement of the protectionist far-right. Is an internationalist, non-traditionalist version of this even possible? I associate Dick Gephardt with a moderate version of this. I could be wrong.

Obviously a left-ish version would be less overtly bigoted against the underclass (though probably neglectful of us in favor of the "productive middle class", just as American liberalism is today).

Yes, of course. The opposition between "productive labor" and the "parasite" is a common trope on the Left, and those deemed to fall in the latter category, whether rich, poor or middle class, have been suffered persecution under Left-wing regimes.
