Let's say that Kay Bailey Hutchinson instead of going into a law firm she decides to run for President and she wins the RNC nomination and she picks Governor Susana Martinez of neighboring New Mexico... Would she make Obama a one term President? Discuss with maps.

Obama would have gotten his clock cleaned by a competent, moderate Republican with a strong record. A female candidate would have been icing on the cake.

McCain was far from competent in 2008, and that election was determined by outside circumstances anyway.

Romney was definitely far from competent (47%, anyone) and had a record he had to run from.

The circumstances in that election were not favorable to Obama by a long stretch. The GOP lost that one.

Obama/Obama, the same map as 2012, except New Mexico and Nevada are more competitive.

This challenge makes me want to get a time machine ASAP. Hutchinson sounds like a winner here.
