The Political Compass test can be found at www.politicalcompass.org. This thread is made up of a number of different threads about the same thing which I merged. -Alcon

Economic Left/Right: -5.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.56

Kinda what I'd expect from myself.  I didn't know what a few of the questions meant tho, so that's an approx.

Oh, and Happy 4th, and Let's Go Mets!!!

Ok so I get this score for the political compass on my personal views and I am totally unrelated to any national figure or anyone I know who has taken the test.

Here are the scores:
Economic Left/Right: 0.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.56

I have no clue who I relate to.  And I'm not in the middle on a bunch of issues either.  Heres what I have always called myself: Roosevelt Democrat
which means somewhat liberal on econ issues, socially conservative, and strong on defense

Someone explain...

Mine's still:

Economic Left/Right: 5.25
Social: 2.26

Though I was surprised by the social thing, since I think drugs and machine guns should be legalized and all...

That doesn't make you a social libertarian.

Of course it does. What other issues are there?

Why do you think you got a conservative score if there were no other issues out there?  I'm sure someone else, less lazy than I, will provide some of the millions of examples.

I believe the last time I took the test it looked like this:

Economic: 4
Social: -1

Richius, where in ON are you? It's good to  finally see some Canadian conservatives here.

Economic Left/Right: -3.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.26

A while back I was Ec.-6, Soc.-8, but they have changed the wording of some questions and I stopped reading into the questions, so I became more moderate.

I have no clue why. That's why I said I was surprised.

Go back to the sections labeled:
"Now a look at some of your personal social values..."
and "..and how you see the wider society."
"If you got through that okay, you'll find these propositions on religion a breeze."
and "Finally, a look at sex."

Do you see any social questions there?  Did you choose to maximize freedom on all of them?  I doubt it.

I got:
Economic Left/Right: 0.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.31

Well, it asked for my moral standards in some places, and I gave them. But I wouldn't force them on society.

What I don't understand is how someone can on one hand be a social libertarian and on the other hand be an economic fascist.
