This week, during the days of May 26-28, the St. Louis Cardinals will host the New York Yankees in an interleague classic between two classic and revered franchises. They have a combined total 38 championships (Cardinals 11), (Yankees 27). If you're a baseball fan or observer, and if these two teams are in the playoffs and surprisingly meet in this year's World Series, who would win and in how many games?

Cardinals Sweep. The Idea of the Yankees making the playoffs year in the stacked AL East is faintly ridiculous.

I never thought I'd have a less pessimistic projection for the Yankees than an actual New Yorker, but I do.

Cardinals in 5.

Well, Since I'm a Mets fan, I'm kind of used to pessimism.

If the Yankees were good, that'd be about my dream Series. As it stands, in a series against someone good, the Yankees would win about one game and then get murdered in the rest.

The Yankees are best when they actually build a team or put it together when it's young and then shell out the money to keep everybody, particularly core groups of stars. That was always the pattern in the past.
