There's one thing I've been wondering for a long time:

Are there one or more politicians who participate (or used to participate) in discussions on this forum?
If so, which of those politicians have revealed themselves as such, and how many do you think have an incognito account? And who? Cheesy

Keystone will become a republican officeholder from Pennsylvania. It's just a question of time. He represents so much the hawkish rep establishment and he seems to be extremely involved in politics, his thread 10 years ago about PA13 was impressive.

Mike Assad was a poster and is now running for Congress, but I don't know him at all.

And I don't think there are politicians on this forum.  But I'm probable wrong.

Muon is an IL state senator and Nathan, I believe, serves on his town's council.

Clarence is also going to run for his city council, I believe.

What? A Republican politician who is adept in math? LOL. That's extremely rare. Cheesy

Eh, engineers are somewhat R-leaning outside of Silicon Valley.  Bankers and actuaries also use a lot of math and lean R.

What's rare about Muon is a Republican science professor.  That's not something you find often.  Republicans and research science(not applied science like medicine or engineering) just don't seem to mix.

There are several definitions for "establishment." I guess I fit into it in certain contexts. In others, definitely, definitely not.

Thanks for the compliment about the PA 13 thread. Compliments on it are very rare. Wink

And we do have at least one actual politician/elected official here: muon.

I believe AndrewCT is an elected town trustee or something. Or at least he was.

I suspect we have relatively few elected pols on this politics forum as the average poster age is around college/grad school level.

We also have a non-American poster who is (was?) a fairly successful politician in his country and was elected to a state governance thing, but I don't think he wants that known. Sorry for teasing.

That would be dorkorb, who resigned as local councillor after a month because his girlfriend wasn't approving. So, I doubt it's the one oakvale was talking about.

Yes, this is not unrelated to his seeking political office.

If I was an aspiring politician I doubt I'd be posting on Atlas, since I wouldn't want people to use my posts against me.

Yes, in 2008 Scottish local elections, if I remember well.
