I just wish he'd quit with the call centers. They aren't for him. No shame in that. I'd be a terrible call center guy too.

I just don't get why Bushie refuses to get a fast food job...

I literally cannot lift the grease pans at the end of the night to clean up.  I tried that at KFC in 1999, but more than once ended up spilling the grease all over the floor.  One morning, I had to stay until 2:30 am on a school night to clean the place up.  I had to be at school at 7:55 that morning.

i think you can handle it.  i spent last night cleaning grease drain pans.  and im certainly not mr. muscles.

But that was 15 years ago. I'm sure you've grown since then. And you're don't have school to worry about anymore. Besides, having a job where you stand, move, and lift things is so much better for your body, than a job sitting behind a desk.

Alas...the moving around part is the deal breaker.

I'm about done with the job search for today.  I've investigated four things, filled out two or three more apps.  I've got two staffing agencies looking for me and submitting me for jobs.  I've got to drop my resume off somewhere and then I'm headed home.  I've been going since 7:30 this morning.

I don't remember enough of it to provide a good description, so no.

One more quick update - I feel pretty good about what I accomplished today.  I started my job search at 7:30 and worked all the way until 16:00 with a 45 minute lunch break at 11:30.  I visited four different places and put in three more applications online this morning.  I garnered three good leads in the four places I visited.  I like the third lead the best because it is a customer service, but it's not a call center.  It utilizes my E-Commerce degree pretty well.  It pays decently and is a 14-week temp-to-hire.  The recruiter thinks I should have no trouble getting an interview with the company.  I should hear something either late this week or early next week.

That's the only update I'll post for now unless something earth-shattering happens.

These staffing agencies and what not helping you find a job: do you pay them for this? Or do they take a cut of your paycheck? Or how does that work?

57 advertised CAD jobs in Tulsa and you can't get an interview?  Why not?

Oh definitely. They don't provide their services for free. They usually take a percentage of the first year salary or are paid per person. Typically though, the company pays for their services and not the employee.

Sadly, I saw this coming months ago. CADD was just a waste of money and a way for Bushie to take a year long vacation from trying to find a job.

There's no need to list every job ever on a resume. People change jobs a lot these days, and hiring manager don't care to read pages and pages of background. You hit the highlights of your employment history and emphasize personal workplace acheivements. It's a marketing document, not a Biblical record.

Yes, this needs to be done.

OTOH, now that I think about it, maybe this thread evades detection from Mr. Costantini as long as it's not labelled "Update".  Perhaps the trick to avoiding detection is to name it something innocuous.  Just think of whatever a ballet dancer would find boring, and name this thread after it.

Well, I don't really care, but Bushie started deleting things when Mondale posted links on FB to Update.  So maybe as long as the Update thread has a nondescript title, Mondale won't notice it, he won't link to it on FB, and Bushie will happily keep posting in it.

Is Dostoevsky now working for Update as a creative consultant? Or was the whole series his baby all along? Ir would make a lot of sense. While the writing styles are obviously very different, it fits in perfectly with his overall themes.
