Just watched the first two episodes. Pretty damn good. Is anyone else watching?

I like how it is incorporating other Coen Bros movies' tropes into the story

Are they just so run out of ideas that they are taking old classic movies and turning them into TV shows?

Normally, I'd agree, but this is a legitimately good show in its own right.  A pale imitation it most certainly is not.

How exactly do you make a TV show based on this movie? And is it actually set in Fargo? (the movie barely was.)

Do I need to be familiar with the movie before watching it?

It's set in Bemidji.

My dad didn't see the movie and told me he liked this new show called Fargo, so no.

Fargo is "an old classic movie"?

Epic FF Show. That scene where Billy Bob Thornton intimidated the cop was *epic*!

Maybe strike the old part, but still, Fargo is one of the great Coen brothers movies.

One of three current television shows I watch. Fantastic. Fargo is one my top three list of my personal favorite films.
