Not the biggest fan of suburbs, but a suburb of Boston with considerable historical significance sounds preferable to what appears to be a suburb of Burlington/Greensboro (and which is probably filled with tea party types).

Lexington... It's Massachusetts, and I like Massachusetts.

I haven't been to Elon, but I used to ride through Lexington frequently so I voted for Lexington.

If you're into bicycling, you can take that trail by Davis Square and ride to Alewife, and behind bertucci's you can take the Minutemen Trail out to Hanscom AFB, which goes through Lexington. There are some festive little ice cream shops there.  You can also ride along a street a while near Hanscomb and then get on another trail to Concord and Sleepy Hollow.  I managed to find my way to Walden Pond out there once and took a swim.  Not much left of Thoreau's place now.

I'd like to know more about Elon, and its vibe, etc. But yes, Lexington. Elon seems too far away and out of it all.

I spent 8 years in the town next to Lexington, and it's a nice suburb. The fact that my daughter's at school less than an hour away is a plus. I haven't been to Elon and only know it as a university town. My bias is to go with what I know.

Lexington.

Sounds like there is more to do there besides go to college (or whoever wrote the wikipedia article on Elon did a sh*tty job).
