Here's a good analysis of the trends from 2010-2014.

Major Trends

- As with most states in the south Democratic registration is falling while more are registering Independent.

-Going off that, the Democratic registration has fallen off severely in parts of Acadiana. Republicans now hold pluralities in some House seats there, which would have been unthinkable 5-10 years ago.

- The number of white voters has decreased by 1.1%. Blacks are up 1.4% and Hispanics/Asians are up a combined 4.3%

- Because blacks have been relatively slow to return to New Orleans, the city is becoming a bastion for white liberals.

- Like AR, the parishes that are growing the quickest are mostly Republican. The suburban Florida parishes between LA-01 and LA-06 are most notable.
