Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a new TV Show to watch. I was hoping to hear suggestions from you guys. I'm looking for something politics related, like a political drama, something law related, or maybe a historical drama of sorts. I've already finished watching House of Cards (Season 1 and 2).

Thanks for your suggestions!

EDIT: Also have seen the West Wing. Sorry for not clarifying, badgate, but I appreciate the suggestion!

The Good Wife is a solid cable drama, it has legal and political themes.

Specifically there are campaign story lines in season 2 and 4.
Also Carrie Preston is the best recurring character of all television ever.

If you're going to start watching it now though, don't Google it.

And I must concur on the bit about Carrie Preston.

The Americans is a cool one you might like. It's about a husband and wife Russian spies in the 1980s.  The 2nd season just started.

Mad Men could be categorized as a "historical drama", no?

Something law related....does it have to be realistic? Suits is an unrealistic show about legal stuff.

Not really a "drama", but The Thick of It

Unrealistic is perfectly fine! Smiley

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I'll check them out.

Boston Legal has legal themes, but it's not necessarily a drama.

Definitely The Good Wife. Very politically aware show, references current events all the time, and the premise was based on the Eliot Spitzer scandal and very well written with a very unique and quirky sense of humor. I'd say though that the campaign plotlines mentioned above were the weaker of the seasons.

And yeah don't read up on current goings on the show to avoid major spoilers especially right now. Show is very serialized, check out Season 1 on DVD and take it from there.

Back in ancient history, I was fond of Picket Fences.  Controversial or bizarre events tended to wind up as court cases.  (To quote an exasperated Judge Bone, "Just once I'd like to have a nuisance suit about a farmer who built his silo too high!")

Watch the original House of Cards on Netflix. Far better than the American version.

This doesn't fit much of your criteria, but Parenthood is one of my favorite television shows currently on air. It's currently in season 5. I guess you could call it a "family drama."

I also second The Americans.

Glad you have already seen The West Wing. One of my top favorites.

Masters of Sex, which had its first season on Showtime last fall, is very good too.
