Reporter:Governor Johnson, many are wondering what as President, what will you do for Iowa?

Johnson:I will enable Iowans to live free, by eliminating the income tax, and giving states and local governments the powers they are entitled to have. But government isn't helping the problem, it has become the problem! I want to give back the power the federal government has taken away from local governments! Lets get our power back, and head out to the Caucuses tomorrow!"

Kucinich Iowa Operations

The Kucinich campaign's footsoldiers have been out in full force during the last week before the caucus. Volunteers have gone door-to-door, have been phone banking, and have used the Internet to promote the campaign across the state. The highest concentration of activity is found in Iowa’s urban areas, such as Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, and college campuses are among the biggest targets for attracting votes. The campaign has been making appeals to all sorts of Democratic primary voters, but has spent the most time and money on Edwards and Biden voters, who are seen as the most likely to flip over to Kucinich. Undecideds have also been receiving special attention during the final days, with a strong focus put on Kucinich’s record in Congress (such as his antiwar activism and his economic populism) in order to sway them.

Round IX: January 15-26th

Iowa Caucuses: Republicans
√ George Allen: 36,954 (31.51%) (16)
Donald Rumsfeld: 33,021 (27.83%) (13)
Gary Johnson: 20,960 (17.66%) (4)
Rudy Giuliani: 17,841 (15.03%) (1)
Bill Owens: 9,099 (7.67%)
Other: 751 (0.3%)

BREAKING NEWS: George Allen Wins The Iowa Caucuses

George Allen wins the Iowa Caucuses, though a surprise and frankly strong second place finish by Donald Rumsfeld has shaken up what was largely an expected win for Allen. Most polls showed him leading by a considerable margin, but the Former Defense Secretary's ground game clearly paid off. A third place finish for Johnson, gives his campaign momentum heading in New Hampshire. Rudy Giuliani, did not heavily contests the Caucuses, and looks to New Hampshire and beyond. Bill Owens, the once favorite in Iowa finished in last place with just over 7 percent of the vote. With a loss in the caucuses it is difficult to see where his campaign goes from here.

Iowa Caucuses: Democrats
√ John Edwards: 571 (31.80%) (16)
Hillary Clinton: 549 (30.60%) (16)
Dennis Kucinich: 342 (19.03%) (13)
Joe Biden: 255 (14.20%)
Other: 80 (4.37%)

BREAKING NEWS: John Edwards Wins Iowa Caucuses

John Edwards, who is still recuperating in the hospital won the Iowa Caucuses, but by a narrower margin than what was predicted. Former President Bill Clinton, while on the trail stumping for Hillary said that he believed Edwards would still win the Iowa caucuses, but by a smaller margin, and right he was. He won the caucuses by 1.2 percent.
Dennis Kucinich finished a strong third and walked away with some delegates, while Joe Biden won a respectable amount and now looks to New Hampshire and beyond.

Iowa Results Speech (Excerpt)

"Thank you very much, Iowa! I am absolutely overwhelmed by your kindness and the massive surge in strength you gave to our campaign today. I said we were going for a strong second, and boy, we sure showed people what that looks like! (Applause) I already gave him a call, but I would like to congratulate Senator Allen on his well-deserved victory once again, and the rest of my rivals for putting up a strong and spirited fight for Iowa. With 27% of the vote and no less than thirteen delegates, we now go to New Hampshire, a state in which I've been campaigning for a long time, a state I expect will give me a decisive victory and secure our momentum. You've given us the strength to move forward, Iowa, and to the Live Free or Die state we go, so we can keep the nay-sayers quiet and silent!"

January 15, 2004

12:30 AM, Buccaneer Arena, Urbandale, Iowa

I congratulated Senators Biden and Kucinich almost two-and-a half hours ago on running such solid campaigns, and told the staffer that handled the Kucinich call, that being the first "fringe" candidate since McGovern to garner a sizable number of delegates in any state bodes well for him. I look forward to seeing how he does in historically liberal areas like Cook County, Illinois or New York City. I also called Elizabeth Edwards to congratulate John and Elizabeth on a hard-fought Iowa victory. Looking ahead I see our big lead in New Hampshire, and the fact we are currently in the top two in every state that votes on February third, and I see an opportunity to have this nomination wrapped up by the time Hawaii, Idaho and Utah Vote on February 24th... But we cannot do it without all of you!  Iowa, if all goes well I'll see you with the nomination in hand, but for now the next stop is New Hampshire!

George Allen Victory Speech!

"I got a call from Donald Rumsfeld congratulating our campaign on a well-deserved victory in the state of Iowa. I want to thank everyone for this victory, including my beautiful wife, my loving family, and my wonderful campaign staff. Together, we can make a true difference for this country. New Hampshire is our next goal, and the pollsters have us in last, but by the end of these next two weeks, we will come out on top in the state! You better believe it!"

NEW ENDORSEMENTS:

Treasury Secretary John Snow - Allen's campaign is the most substantive

Washington D.C. - George Allen made a quick flight shortly after his Iowa win to D.C., to receive the endorsement of Treasury Secretary John Snow. This is an important endorsement: even if though one of the Bush administration people is running for the Presidents office, it shows the administration itself is still split on who to endorse, and along with Andy Card, a large chunk of the administration has backed George Allen's mission for the Presidency.

South Carolina: Senator Lindsey Graham and Former Congressman Arthur Ravenel Jr. endorse Allen

Charleston, South Carolina - South Carolina is looking like the make or break state now for Virginia Senator George Allen's Presidential campaign, and he's received two very important endorsements: Senator Lindsey Graham, and Former Congressman Arthur Ravenel. Lindsey Graham, in spite of only two years in the Senate, has shown he already has a lot of power among the South Carolina delegation, and even the South Carolina Republican Party as a whole. Arthur Ravenel has strong connections to donors, which makes fundraising for Allen in the state much easier. These endorsements should put Allen over the top in a state where he currently holds a narrow 4 point lead over Rudy Giuliani.

Dearborn, Missouri

Yes, Hillary's tied with Senator Edwards at the moment, but she's the emblem of what a Missouri Democrat is politically- Liberal on Social Issues, Moderately Hawkish and Fiscally Moderate. As event's in Iowa proved, she's in better current, health, though I think Senator Edwards will be healthier in the long run, and she just has the determination to become President few others lack.

Rio All Suite and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Even though Hillary Clinton, couldn't quite seal the deal in Iowa, we now know she truly is a legitimate threat to break the eponymous "glass ceiling" of women in politics, as such I will endorse her.

Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri

Hillary Clinton is more than just a Democrat running for President, she's someone who's admitted she made grievous errors in her past, and has worked to learn from them. That is mark of good politician, and more than that a good person. That's why I'm endorsing Hillary Clinton.

Oakwood, Missouri

I looked at the list of candidates and realized, that I was thinking it through too hard... many in the African-American consider Bill Clinton to be the first President to ever give a damn about us, so of course I'm going to endorse his wife!

Florissant, Missouri

We're on the road to breaking one glass ceiling, and if we elect Senator Clinton and get that Obama fellow elected in Illinois and re-elected in 2010, we might break another glass ceiling in 2012...

U.S Capitol Building, Washington D.C

I'm proud today to announce my endorsement of my fellow Senator Hillary Clinton, as I believe she is the best candidate to take on the Republican smear machine, as she's lived every possible attack aimed at her and her husband. Also I really don't want her as my colleague in the Senate, she's too hoopla-ish, so if she is the nominee, could someone talk her into selecting Senator Bayh as her running mate?

Caribou, Maine

Hillary Clinton is the potential nominee that Republicans have feared since Hillary-care, and now we have a chance to make this nightmare a reality. Why wouldn't I miss Rush Limbaugh foaming at the mouth every day?

Newfane, Vermont

I didn't leave the Republican Party, but the Republican Party in it's litmus test desires drove me out. I'm endorsing Hillary Clinton because we share a common thread, we once were former Republicans, who have grown disillusioned by our former parties racism, sexism and warmongering. For Hillary, it was at young age and for me it was late in life, but we are linked by this, and that is why I feel compelled to endorse her.

Press Conference in Washington D.C.

"Senator Jeffords comments about Republicans are offensive, and I demand that he take his statement back. This is the second time Hillary Clinton's major endorsers have gone off the leash to say something abhorrent or damaging to her own campaign. It's as if she's trying to lose. Well, if she wins the nomination, we'll certainly give her what she's looking for in November!"

Press Conference in Bismarck, ND

"I'm quite upset about Senators Jeffords remarks on the state of the Republican Party. I know Senator Jeffords, I like him, but I cannot see where his statement is coming from. We, as a party, have always tried to be as inclusive as possible when it comes to women and African Americans. It was Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who fought the Civil War and it was Republicans who fought for the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution. It was Richard Nixon, a Republican, who finally ended our involvement in Vietnam - we're not the warmongers that he claims. I think Senator Jeffords' statement is unfounded, untrue, and I think he should apologize to all the great female Republicans - like Nancy Reagan and Margaret Chase Smith - and to all the great African American Republicans - like Edward Brooke and Colin Powell."

George Allen for President Schedule - January 15th - 26th, 2004

New Ad: Strong on Defense
This ad will air in New Hampshire, South Carolina, North Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Michigan, Washington and Maine

"Americas enemies are looking to damage us far beyond that of the 9/11 attacks. We need a leader who is willing to stand up to terror and fight for freedom across the world. Meet George Allen: strong on national defense, he has a plan that will rid the world of Saddham Hussein and terror in the next four years. He is endorsed by Colonel Lindsey Graham, a leader in America's foreign policy. Electing George Allen means defeating terror. Let's get it done!

I'm George Allen, and I approve this message, because strong leadership, leads to a stronger nation."

January 15th-17th (D.C. and Delaware):
Receiving endorsement from Treasury Secretary John Snow
Meeting with Republican Leadership in D.C.
Press Conference in D.C.
Barnstorming in New Castle County with Michael Castle and Pierre DuPont IV
Town Halls throughout Delaware with Michael Castle and Pierre DuPont IV
Meet and Greets in Sussex County and Kent County, Delaware with Michael Castle and Pierre DuPont IV

"Innovation in this country is being strangled by the regulatory arm of our federal Government. With my hand on the wheel as President of the United States, I will lower the regulatory burden that this country has faced and make sure that businesses in this country have the ability to innovate and grow. We must always prefer innovation and freedom to regulation if we want to be successful as a nation."

January 18th-20th (South Carolina):
Announcing Endorsement with Lindsey Graham and Arthur Ravenel Jr.
Meeting with the South Carolina Legislature with Lindsey Graham
Barnstorming the Coastal area of South Carolina with Lindsey Graham and Arthur Ravenel
Town Halls in Central South Carolina with Lindsey Graham
Meeting with Major South Carolina Donors with Arthur Ravenel Jr.
Fundraisers in Columbia, South Carolina with Arthur Ravenel Jr.

"South Carolina has a notable history of picking Presidents. No nominee has ever gone on to win the nomination without the state of South Carolina. President George W. Bush, for example, lost New Hampshire, but won the state of South Carolina. Now that's not to say we're going to lose New Hampshire, we are gunning to win every state we can, but South Carolina picks President, and we look pretty damn good in South Carolina, wouldn't you agree, Lindsey Graham and Arthur Ravenel! *applause*"

January 21st - 26th (New Hampshire):
Meeting with New Hampshire Republican Party with Craig Benson
Media Appearances throughout the week
Meet and Greets in Rural Areas of New Hampshire with Craig Benson
Barnstorming in Major Cities of New Hampshire with Craig Benson
Strategy Meeting at the end of the week
Beginning GOTV operations in all of the states
Town Halls throughout the whole state

"To answer your question, I have no intention to let pundits, news casters, or my opponents decide which states I win or lose. If I let that happen, then I just shouldn't have run. New Hampshire bleeds red, and we are going to win New Hampshire, not just tomorrow, but in the general election as well. New Hampshirites aren't going along with the tax and spend liberal ideas that the liberal Democratic party has been putting out as of late, nor their weak on defense attitude. New Hampshirites are tough on crime, and perhaps most important of all, New Hampshirites understand the sanctity of life. Come and join this expanding campaign and together we will get this nation on track to get its glory back!"

Press Conference in Wilmington, Delaware

I just got off the phone with Senator Edwards in Hospital, I congratulated his win in Iowa. Now, I'm not ashamed by my performance, it is just that Campaigning, that sort of thing, I think my performance was okay, but we could've done better. I'm not going to be bitter or cynical or childish over this, but I'm not gonna throw up my hands and give up. We will go to New Hampshire and then South Carolina and eventually the White House. I believe in my chances.

Meet Voters in Deer Park, Washington

Meet Voters in Spangle, Washington

Speech at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena's, Spokane, Washington

Look, Republicans have good things in their past- but that's just it, it's the past! Us Democrats used to be exactly what the Republicans are now on civil rights, and Republicans have abandoned the torch of progressive politics to Democrats. The fact is, individuals like Nancy Reagan, Margret Chase Smith, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, Colin Powell, Edward Brooke don't represent what the Republican Party of today stands for. They oppose a woman's right to choose, which regardless of whether one supports abortion or not, is sexist for putting men in power over what a woman wishes to do with her body. They oppose affirmative action and support gun policies and drug policies that could be construed as racist. And while we invaded Vietnam, and most of us regret that to this day, every war with U.S ground troops since than has been authorized by a Republican President. President Reagan invaded Grenada, President Reagan decided to get involved in a civil war in Lebanon, President Bush Sr. invaded Panama to extradite him for trial, in a situation that didn't require American Troops. Bush Sr. liberated Kuwait in an International effort, and President Bush Sr. was the President who sent troops into the disaster zone of Somalia, and of course our current President has led us into Iraq and Afghanistan. Does that not sound like warmongering to you? As far as I'm concerned the only thing Senator Jeffords has to apologize for is not couching his endorsement in the present day

If he doesn't post soon, the Iowa results should be a good enough reason to have Owens drop out. I hope he returns though.

Jan. 15th
Barnstorming-Berlin, New Hampshire
Meet and Greet-Bristol, New Hampshire
Speech to Democratic Donors-Alton, New Hampshire
Tour of University of New Hampshire-New Hampshire
Town Hall-Portsmouth, New Hampshire

There are Republicans who like to constantly say that banks are unable to land and that Corporations are people, that is crazy. First off, they want to cut things like food stamps, and now you want to just give dollars to the big businesses and the 1% in the country. If I was elected, Welfare reform and added funding for programs like SNAP would be first priorities. We definitely do not need our poor starving out in the streets as CEOS and Bankers are all in their chairs and this just makes me shake my head, we need to get legislation to eradicate Poverty as we know it, and that's what you'll get under a President Biden.

Rally with Ted Kennedy (Announce Endorsement)- Boston, Massachusetts
Fundraiser-Berlin, New Hampshire

King: Senator Biden, would your Cabinet have a few Clinton era officials despite the former President's off hand remarks and more hostile behavior?

Biden: Well, like what people asked me about Arlen Specter being a possible adviser, it is far too early to actually speculate about a Cabinet if I won, but I would be open to all sorts of Cabinet members, Democrats or Republicans, if they are good for the job, they would be in. I don't think though that we should start going "These guys go here, this woman goes there" this early, it's ridiculous.

Jan 19th

Alright guys, the results will soon be counted on TV by people on CNN, MSNBC, heck, maybe FOX, but I just want to thank you guys for helping me run an incredible Campaign, all the media appearances, Polling upsets, getting out to meet with concerned citizens, it's been an honour, so let's hope all goes well and we can roll on to South Carolina! Who wants to celebrate?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bidendorsements:
Ted Kennedy:
I know Joe Biden, ever since he was elected in the Nixonslide of 1972, he has been fighting for Progressive Causes even if the Presidents are unwilling to co operate, and while I'm getting old, I can still give a great guy a full solid backing, and I urge voters to cast their ballots for Joe Biden in the upcoming Caucuses and Primaries!
Jim Doyle:
I have been governor a short while, and I've done well in my State, but the facts are that we are not in a good Economy, and while people are realizing that, the Republican strategy seems to be ignoring it entirely, that is just plain wrong. But I do know a guy who can solve our woes, a guy who will introduce American Progress, and that man is Senator Joe Biden!
Hillary Clinton Schedule
January 15, 2004
Meet Voters in Cedar Valley, Oklahoma
Meet Voters in Langston, Oklahoma
Meet Voters in Tecumseh, Oklahoma
Meet Voters in Mountain View, Oklahoma
January 16, 2000
Speech at the Woodman Institute Museum, Dover, New Hampshire
The fact is Republicans just don't believe in Science! The "intelligent design/creation" canard, I can completely understand, given pretty much everyone believes in some form of Religious creator deity, being God, Allah, or "The Force", but the fact that the Republican Party, both voters and politicians, flies in the face of all scientific logic. It's like Chester Nimitz believing the Earth is flat, or Sally Ride saying the sun revolves around the earth. It just isn't true.
GOTV in Somersworth, New Hampshire
GOTV in Rochester, New Hampshire
January 17, 2004
Speech at Rochester Opera Hall, Rochester, New Hampshire
I know people are attacking my husband and Senator Jeffords, for what they've said about the Republican Party. In Bill's case, ignore him... Surely you've learned after twelve years he does this all the time? But Senator Jeffords was a member of the Republican Party for many years. He knows of what he talks about-far more than my husband does in regard to inter-Republican Party issues, it seems... By the way, Senator Allen, Mayor Giuliani, your're the top contenders in Republican Primary, shouldn't you be worried about each other?
GOTV in Hollis, New Hampshire
GOTV in Milford, New Hampshire
GOTV in Francestown, New Hampshire
January 18, 2004
Speech at Franklin Pierce University, Rindge, New Hampshire
Someone, I believe it was Sean Hannity said two days before Iowa that Edwards and Biden would crush me. Well Sean, you were wrong once, and I was listening as we were going to Francestown yesterday, and this time you said I'd lose to Kucinich! Sean, your're going to be wrong again, even if I don't win because, Kucinich isn't winning either, and your're track record hasn't been good so far! You said Ross Perot would win 1992 and in 1996, You said Alan Keyes would win the Iowa Caucuses and than Republican nomination, in 1996 and you weren't even close to predicting the nominee of the party you to claim to know so much about! This year, you said Governor Owens would win the Iowa Caucuses, and he finished in Fourth Place! Sean with your track record I'd suggest you stay away from politics and pick stuff you have a chance at, like the Belmont Stakes!
GOTV in Richmond, New Hampshire
GOTV in Dublin, New Hampshire
GOTV in Newton, New Hampshire
GOTV in Deerfield, New Hampshire
GOTV in Londonderry, New Hampshire
January 21, 2004
Speech at Holt Arena, Pocatello, Idaho
You know, they said in 1972 that only a fool would support George McGovern...  Well, People are saying that about Representative Kucinich already... Well if this adage is true there sure are a lot of fools out there, seeing as he got thirteen delegates in Iowa, while the individual in the field with the most wisdom and experience in Senator Didn't get any... If I win the nomination, and If I win the White House, I'm certain that I can find a role for Rep. Kucinich, who  naysayers, such Tucker Carlson, Howard Kurtz, Whoopi Goldberg and Star Jones say won't get another delegate, is too kooky, to do anything useful in Government, and prove them wrong for him and for me.
Tour of the Museum of the Rockies, Bozeman, Montana
Republicans want to ban funding for stuff like digging for a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull? What are they afraid of someone like Carlos Slim deciding to build Jurassic Park? Please, just because a billionaire has money doesn't mean they're going use it for something that stupid...
Tour of the Mai Wah Museum, Butte, Montana
January 22, 2004
Speech at Lakeland College, Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Just under a month, and your Governor endorsed Senator Biden... But a little bird tells me he's not going to be in the race by time Wisconsin votes. He needs to win New Hampshire, which isn't going to happen, and he needs to do well on March 3, which also isn't going to happen. Senator Biden's done, he just doesn't know it yet.
League of Conservation Voters Action Fund Ad
Y'know, here is a picture received from the CIA, showing two guys. What's wrong with it?
Well, I'm sure many will know the man on the Right, Iraq President Saddam Hussein, negotiating a deal during the Iran-Iraq War. But do you know the guy on the Left? Take a guess................. It's then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, that's right, the man who helped draw up the Iraq War, shaking hands with Saddam Hussein. Do you not believe that photo? Well, here's another.
Let me remind you, Secretary Rumsfeld now calls for the capturing for Hussein, shaking hands with 'em back in the '80s. Does this sound like a man for America? We sure as heck don't say yes.
