Any other submissions? I'll probably create the poll soon.

I'll add Napoleon.  He's pretty polarizing on here, especially in fantasyland.

I know 2004 was a long time ago, but John Engle and mypalfish deserve honorable mentions.

That makes sense. Napoleon is top 20 for fantasyland alone.

Creating a poll on this now probably isn't going to yield very accurate results, since so many posters here now are recent arrivals.  The results will be skewed towards the present and recent past.

You need an expert panel of posters from throughout Atlas history, in order to get any decent results.  Otherwise it'll be like polling the general public with the question "What is the best movie of all time?", and having the top answer be The Hunger Games.  It's not the sort of question that the general public can answer reliably.

Yes, that would be ideal.  Get a panel of Atlas experts, and put together some lists like these:

Now THAT would be a group I'd enjoy! Of course, I'd probably be skewed toward our older notorious posters, and I am not familiar with any of the newer ones outside of vague reference.

One for each year from 2004 to 2013 sounds like a great idea.

Btw, Rochambeau being on this list reminds me of this classic video:

The most interesting part of him was that I pronounced his name no-mo-reli-es and I didn't notice "no more lies" until it was pointed out in his banning.  I don't believe I was alone.

I think that's why most of us referred to him as nomo for short.

Not so sure. Hamilton and <shudder> Libertas (hoch! spit!), definitely belong on this list, but they largely overlap in time.

I hereby use my monarch powers ordained by Dave to establish the Atlas Forum Institute, a tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to the postgraduate study of board culture.

As founding member and Chairman, my first act is to offer the roles of Director to Mr. Morden and Archivist to Xahar. Job responsibilities to be defined later.

To join the AFI, you must at least have 10,000 posts, 10 years of forum membership, or $100 PayPal.

Aren't they both much more recent? 2009?

Is Joshgreen too new for this list? Because he is among the biggest dicks I have ever encountered here.

Also, am I a member of AFI for having 10,000 posts? Or do I also need the 10 year membership (or the third option, the cash Tongue).

I'm not really sure how feasible putting together that panel is considering that a lot of the people who should be on it no longer post here for one reason or another. Plus, the panel would most likely be biased towards much older posters especially considering that many of the older posters on here tend to say things like "2004-2008 was so great on here but f[inks]k everything after that"!

I'm still leaning towards doing a poll. This is basically just for fun anyway. I'll think about it though.

In the meantime, if anyone has any more submissions...
