Opinion of signatures that feature multi-panel gifs complete with captions...

It seems that this is starting to become a problem, especially among our younger posters and one in particular. They're usually either incredibly preachy or an attempt to be humorous and could easily be communicated through use of a quote box or regular writing. They take up space, are distracting, and have a tendency towards being annoying as well. Why are they here? I suppose it's yet another sign of the collapse of a civil, moral, and sensible society, but that's just me.

What are your thoughts?

Why would I condemn the entire signature system (which is beautiful, by the way) because of a few bad eggs? That's like me complaining about extremism committed by X group means that I should just discriminate against said demographic. Is it too much to ask for some mere common sense in this regard?

if you don't like someone's signature but dont want to turn off signatures just use the ignore button
