I like football better as a sport, but nothing comes close to March madness.

It's awesome, but the college football playoff, especially once it expands to 8 teams, is going to be even better.

Overtime game 7's in any NHL playoff series and especially the finals is the most exciting thing in sport, period.  As for "event", got to be the NFL playoffs.

No. Decidedly the Super Bowl. Man, I'm in withdrawal. Sad The draft can't get here quick enough.

I'm not a scout and I think about 50% of it is pure guesswork and the rest standardized b.s. that provides a general guideline, so I don't get into all this combine workout stuff. Back in the '80s guys played themselves into shape. Lawrence Taylor in games 1-3 was NOT the L.T. in games later in the year. So IDK. It's useful, I guess, but not the end-all-be-all. All the trades and rumors? Ehh.

I'm not a fan of March Madness actually, I have a hard time getting into college basketball beyond supporting my alma mater.

Everyone saying NFL and NHL playoffs would be correct.

NCAA Division 3 Football Playoffs are where it's at. I'm sure the D2 and D1-FCS are just as good as well but I actually have a stake with D3 with my alma mater being a total beast in football.

D1-FBS is going to have to go a long way and add a lot more teams to get to the same level. And since I really don't follow basketball so march madness and the NBA finals I just root for the Wisconsin teams.

I'd rank the playoffs as such

1. Stanley Cup Playoffs (NHL)

2. MLB postseason

3. NFL playoffs

4. The World Cup

5. NCAA football

6. NCAA basketball
7. NBA playoffs

With regard to the actual question at hand, obviously the NCAA basketball playoffs are the best because they are entertaining in and of themselves, not as a means to an end. Everyone likes the opening rounds better than the later rounds, because unlike other tournaments, what makes it entertaining isn't trying to find a winner but simply watching the process. The NFL playoffs are just a prelude to the Super Bowl, the NBA and NHL have playoffs that are far too long, and baseball's postseason is a ridiculous crapshoot that should not exist.

Are you saying you are for the old format?

Best record in NL vs. Best record in AL for the World Series.  No divisions?
