This is why all the hacks are wrong about Obama going down as a terrible President.

Nobody cares about what was and wasn't done in Washington.  This is his legacy right here: artifacts that show you being cool.  Combine stuff like this with his serious iconic moment on the death of Bin Laden announcement and you have a historically well remembered President.

George W Bush's 2nd term is already being washed away in the cathartic sands of time.  Eventually all that will be left is his speech to the firefighters at ground zero.

The first and second ones are terrible, the first is expected from either side to their opposition.
LOL CHRISTAIN, people still believe he is a Muslim, give me a break.
And some still think he is a socialist, yikes, but unfortunately expected from some conservatives.

You're just mad you don't have the moral fortitude to not be amused by the tyrannic evil that is a Funny or Die video.

I don't get what their problem is.

Even Good Saint Reagan and his consort Nancy often made cameos on TV shows and appeared with celebrities.

There are times when I seriously wish Obama could run for a third term. This is one of them.

They're obviously jealous that Democrats stole their shtick and now they have nothing.

Considering that Lincoln was considered uncouth by some precisely because he used humor, this goes beyond trolling to either blatant lying or more likely our tendency to place past presidents on pedestals.

Well, they're right. Lincoln wouldn't have used comedy to advance a healthcare bill signed into law 144 years after his death. The Emancipation Proclamation on the other hand..... I bet Bill O'Reilly wouldn't be a fan of that.

FOX's penchant for not researching things such as talking points about Abe Lincoln, or Obamacare horror stories, is well documented.

The first time that quote was ascribed to Lincoln was in 1931.  Which means he probably didn't say it.

As Winston Churchill famously said, "Most quotes on the internet aren't completely accurate."

That was obviously a joke on O'Reilly's part, guys

Besides he literally wrote a book about Lincoln so it's not like he's a complete ignorant

Thoguh delayed by basketball, by a good forty minutes, I saw the O'Reilly appearence on Letterman. It seems that it was in the context of the Russia invasion of Crimea, that he said Lincoln would not have made such an appearence.

I don't know what the direct lateral comparison would be. Lincoln had a sense of humor and he used it effectively, but I am also certain there are situations where he refrained from it. Certainly those involving the troops and casualties would be. I also doubt that Lincoln would have joked about the raid into Ohio, Lee's two invasions or the start of the war itself. The question then becomes, would he have joked during one of those about some matter of domestic policy, which would be the closest approximation.

Worth considering:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiMs165tVdw

As Peggy Noonan wrote, it isn’t just that she didn’t jump, it’s that she used the word “puerile” and either assumed it would be understood or, even better, didn’t care if you knew it and assumed if you were interested you’d haul yourself to a dictionary, to your betterment. This is how leaders used to talk. They didn’t use baby words. They said mothers and fathers, not moms and dads. A funny thing modern politicians, all of whom are mobbed up with media consultants, don’t understand: If they spoke like adults people would respect them more. And they’d stand out more from the pack. And if the adult language they were speaking were completely natural to them, obviously organic to them, people would be more than impressed, they’d be grateful. Anyway, this is how the grown-ups used to do it.

(However I will admit I found it a little amusing.)
