Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

The text of this bill is taken from a similar bill introduced by Scott in the IDS Legislature, and I would like to thank him for crafting this piece of legislation. The purpose of this bill is to try and deter federal surveillance agencies from collecting the private information of Northeast citizens. While we do not have the power to change federal surveillance policy, we should do whatever is possible to obstruct the the gross violation of the civil liberties and privacy rights of our constituents. The Northeast has a rich history of refusing to cooperate with unconscionable federal practices, most notably refusing to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. It is my hope that this Assembly will vote to honor and uphold that tradition.

Fully support. I don't think it's too big a leap of faith to suggest that there are less wiretaps in Atlasia than in real life, given that most wiretaps are because of the drug war.

A good article on the subject, in my opinion.
