I'll admit that I've only seen one of the nominees (I'm way behind on film-watching, obviously) but I get the impression that, while apparently likely, it would be kinda silly for Gravity to win Best Picture, no?

The Wolf of Wall Street
Captain Phillips
American Hustle

I should see 12 Years a Slave ASAP. Hope it's on DVD soon.

I don't think it's silly at all - I have strong doubts about 12YAS being strong enough in a preferential ballot - I go backwards and forwards on this, I've gone with Gravity by a tiny margin (small enough that 12YAS winning is pretty much as likely) due to it's likely tech sweep and Hollywood story of the year status.

But American Hustle strikes me as a total consensus spoiler ... It's the weirdest year I can remember

Guys, it was a three-way horse race for a little while but it's pretty clear now that 12 Years a Slave will win (as it should). Just watch.

My only "upset" pick for tonight is Jennifer Lawrence beating Lupita Nyong'o (which I hope I'm wrong about).

1. Her
2. Captain Phillips
3. Nebraska
4. Dallas Buyers Club
5. Gravity
6. Philomena
7. American Hustle
8. Wolf of Wall Street

I usually see all noms every year, but have slipped up due.

Found Nebraska on pay per view.  I would put that 3rd behind Captain Philips.  The only one I missed is the apparent Best Picture winner.  Maybe they will re-release it again to theaters after the win.

My only "upset" pick for tonight is Jennifer Lawrence beating Lupita Nyong'o (which I hope I'm wrong about).

I hope not.  Lawrence is starting to be grating for me.

American Hustle is the only one I've seen, unfortunately. It was pretty good I guess.
