As I see German cartoonist Gerhard Seyfried has made it into Snowstalker's signature, for all those with some understanding of German, here a link to Seyfried's legendary Germany map from 1977:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GyfFZC87t10/TOAvvBcXzjI/AAAAAAAAArE/SwqF6fYtdxg/s1600/deutschlandkarte+seyfried+1977.jpg
(I suppose it is still copyright protected, therefore just a link)

Enjoy the German Disinfected Republic, Rust and Rest Berlin, Hangover, Slumburg, the Pruderlands and various other places...

Pretty good, I like Delirium Bremens, Abortmund and Kaputtgart.

I found this map of Spain understandable for English speakers. Andalusia is divided between East Gypsistan and West Gypsistan, Mallorca is (obviously) renamed Deutschland, Ibiza is (obviously again) Euro-Partyland and Bilbao is the World Capital (suburbs including New York, Seoul, Mumbai, Manchester and Buenos Aires). The latter is absolutely accurate. Anyway, the author seems to hate Andalusia and Extremadura, with those common places about laziness and religious fanaticism (Spain is pretty secular nowadays, despite Andalusians love religious festivities and Holy Week processions) and the coast of Valencia should be renamed Gürtel Land, to honour the corruption scandal involving the regional government (judge Garzón named it "Gürtel" case, translating the name "Correa" literally into German) as I've seen in other maps.

Though America's most famous Austrian suggests other hormones to be in play as well.

No.  Denny's may be the largest restaurant chain with headquarters here, but it did not start here nor is it particularly southern, let alone South Carolinian.  Ryan's would be a better choice, even tho it is not a national brand. (Its parent does operate nationally under several brands.)

Of course this is dated. Many other wars have happened since by this definition.

Interesting contrast between Missouri and Kansas, both with respect to thresholds and abortion rates.

It's sorta odd how New York has such a high rate, even in comparison to its neighbors.  The low SOuth Carolina rate is likely attributable in part to the presence of Savannah, Augusta, and Charlotte right on the borders.  The abortion clinics for those cross-border metro areas are likely all on the other side of the state line which would reduce the number here and increase it in our neighbors.
