As a liberal, I want to ban neither, but private schools are clearly more important to maintaining individual liberty. At least strip clubs can be justified somewhat under zoning laws.

I would prefer not to ban either, but if I was forced to choose, I'd choose strip clubs.

For one thing, even if strip clubs were made illegal, porn still would be, so people can still get a sexual fix without having a woman. Second, and more importantly, giving kids an alternative to what might be a horrible public school is better. Third, purely from a practical standpoint getting rid of strip clubs may have positive effects on city development, while getting rid of private schools will only serve to further overcrowd already overcrowded schools, increasing the strain on the public school system with it's limited resources, thusly either leading to even crappier education or to higher taxes, which will result in other negative effects.

Strip clubs however are perfectly wonderful institutions, in which consenting adults can exchange money for services.  I would like to change the law to allow those services to include sex, and also to lower the age of consent.  To ban a strip club or any other sexual business is the worst kind of State oppression of individual freedom.

No.  I'm not a parent and have never had much to do with kids.  I think most religious people do their best to bend their offspring to their will and force them to conform to their beliefs.  I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole to call this 'abuse', but I would say that it is very poor parenting, and that such tyrants are more prone to outright abuse.

Anyway, I am all for both strip clubs and private schools being allowed, but clearly strip clubs are a lot more important for freedom, and a lot less ambigious in their beneficent role in the community.

Private schools offer an education; the ability to better oneself; develope social skills; athletic participation and provides a head start for those entering the workforce or college. Public schools offer the same.

Strip clubs offer...um...er...well they take your money and you can't touch, so you go home frustrated and get on-line and "use your imagination". Then you take a nap. Fun! They offer no benefit to society.

So I say abolish strip clubs.

Hell froze over.  I can't believe I chose the same option as dazzleman and PBrunsel.  Of course, I don't think strip clubs should be banned, but I'd rather see strip clubs banned than private schools.

I can't believe that 23% here voted for the strip club.  Then again, Badnarik received nearly a quarter of the votes in the presidential election poll conducted here, so this is a pretty nutty group.  I'm well to the left (whatever that means) of most people.  I am strongly pro-choice - there should be no restrictions on first trimester abortions, bans on the so-called "partial birth" abortion should have an exception for saving the life of the mother, and I oppose parental notification, gag orders, 24-hour waiting periods, and other popular restrictions. 

But I object to strip clubs but not private schools.  I'd rather live next door to a private school than a strip club.  I have no objection to private schools, so long as taxpayer money doesn't subsidize religious schools.

Most feminists consider strip clubs to be degrading to women, and I agree.  (The feminist community does have dissenters, though.)  Then again, this is one of the few issues in which the feminists and social conservatives are in agreement.
