At this point, I understand the reasoning behind opposing a grace period, so I am supportive of Senator Bore's amendment. I'm just hoping something can be done one way or another, as I am not a fan of the current status.

Nay

If we get rid of de-registration, we will keep hearing from people who want it back.

We can't please everyone. Wink

But seriously, I think the only reasonable solutions to this is to either kept it as is or repeal it entirely. Marokai and I did it as is to guard against people rage quitting and then saying loljk a few hours later after getting their ego stroked. The period is to discourage deregistration.

I'd favor an outright repeal, but I can see shua's point.

Are the people who have been deregistered under the act still deregistered if we repeal it?

I would assume so.

I would think so, but if we repeal it, they will obviously be allowed to reregister without a waiting period.

I really hope the Senate does not pass this. If people want to leave the game, they should be able to leave without having to wait 6 months and putting up with unwanted PMs.

This, all getting rid of Deregistration will do is usher in a new wave of zombies.  If this bill passes, I urge President Duke to veto it!

I don't know about zombies joining the game. They can do it now anyway. But as I said, I am fine keeping deregistration as is, but if we want to change it, we need to repeal it entirely. I don't like the idea of a 24 hour period where you can rejoin if you deregister. I think that will be more ripe for abuse than anything.

I have seen nothing to indicate any impact that deregistration has had on the number of zombies.

They don't have to wait six months. They can leave immediately. All the six months does is give thme a chance to change their minds before losing their membership.

A few seconds use of the delete key in exchange for the freedom to return as soon as you want to. Sounds like quite a bargain to me.
