I would love to include prominent right-wingers. Unfortunately there aren't any, other than Maxwell and dallasfan65.

Both amendments are amending different parts of the bill, so yours wouldn't go away.

Technically, X's amendment assumes the failure of mine, because an amendment, even if not notated, changes all the text in the quote. At least, that's how Yankee interprets it.

Because Tyrion's amendment removes a clause and X's then inludes it. The order of the amendments means that X's reverses tyrion's. There is simply no other way to impartially interpret amendments thne in this fashion especailly since the rules state that all not included components will remain unchanged unless stated otherwise.

I am okay as long as the South gets an airport named "The Duke-Yankee International Airport for the Mentally Insane." It would seem fitting for us all. Tongue

The change we obviously need, and no doubt the most substantive bill of the session. It's also worth noting that this wasn't/isn't a partisan bill, as there are individuals from three different parties included.

Is Clause 2 really necessary, seeing as how those airports are not being renamed?

I can think of about four right-wingers who merit having an airport in the IDS named after them before Adam Griffin does.

Likewise, I can think of about 53 states that don't deserve to have their boundaries determined by reactionary agitators.

Mr. X, do you wish to revise this amendment to reflect the changes made by Tyrion's or do you prefer to proceed with reversing such?

It looks like I need to go ahead and name an airport after myself because I'll be a lame duck fairly soon. Tongue

Yes, it can be revised to reflect the changes.  I also object to the amendment removing Griffin's name.

I don't think it's the Senate's job to rename locations to boost some senator's friends ego.

That's not why we're doing it.  Besides, its not like this is even unrealistic or anything.  After all, there are many airports named after politicians (ex: the JFK International airport Tongue ).

whatever the reason for this, picking names of some people is subjective. If the picks are based on merit, some will believe the person merit an airport name, some won't for the same person. I doubt the proposed list is based on merit. I find it's better to stay away from honoring players.

Clearly I should have used my temporary emergency powers to name every airport in the Pacific after myself.
