one thing i find sort of odd...most dishwashing at restaurants is done by males.  yet on the domestic front, washing dishes is still seen as primarily a woman's chore.

anyway.  no, ive never been strictly a dishwasher, though my current job does include dishwashing duties at times.

Yep.

After many months one of the cooks quit and I got a try out and got the job, thankfully.

Washing the dishes wasn't so bad but the pots and bowls........ugh.

Yeah. I liked making money but the work made me want to blow my brains out. Much prefer less tedious and coordination-requiring work.

Not just dishes, but there was some dishwashing at Subway...not much...mainly the trays we baked bread on and the knives...after somebody cut a finger.

Probably because in a restaurant/hospitality/entertainment setting, women tend to be more friendly and outgoing and good at the kind of small talk that waitresses and hostesses need to do in order to get good tips and encourage people to frequent that establishment.
