I'm doing a new election/poll series about political parties in each country, going in alphabetical order. First is Afghanistan.

Hizb ut-Tahrir: Pro-Sharia Law, anti-zionist, pro-conscription, against democracy, allowing private enterprise, public ownership of utilities and resources, public health care, gold standard, anti-suffrage for non-muslims, anti-religious freedom, anti-economic freedom, pro-women's suffrage, segregation of gender, anti-western civilization, anti-Israel, against violent methods for political gain

Hezbi Islami/Islamic Party: Islamic, communist, formerly pro-soviet, non-violent faction exists as a political party, violent group exists under same name

Republican Party: Islamist, supports a presidential system, supports free education, free healthcare

Islamic Society/Jamiet-e Islami: Moderately progressive, Moderately Islamist, Communitarian, Afghan and Tajik ethnic interests

Afghan Social Democratic Party: Self-described Socialist, Social Democracy, not recognized by Socialist International, Islamic, Afghan/Pashtun Nationalism

Islamic Unity Party: Shi'a Islam, Hazara Minority Rights, formerly anti-Soviet, pro-women's rights, Nationalistic, Quran-based government

Islamic Dawah Organization: Wahhabi Islam, Pashtun Nationalism, Pashtun Ethnic Interests, Orthodox Islamism

National Front: Anti-taliban, Islamic, pro-democracy

National Coalition: Anti-taliban, Islamic, pro-democracy, leading opposition to Karzai, reformism

Green Trend: Pro-democracy, anti-Taliban, Reformism, centrist

Truth and Justice: Multi-ethnic, centrist, favors negotiation with with rebel groups, US-Afghan strategic agreement, traditionalist

National Islamic Movement: Uzbek Ethnic Interests, Secular, Islamist, Human rights abuses, corruption

Voted Republican. I realize these aren't the best choices because of Afghan laws regarding parties and Islam. This poll will run for 3 days btw.

I'm amazed that you know enough about these parties to give us a brief blurb on each of them... Unless you're just getting the Wiki articles on each one.

Anyway, National Coalition, I suppose.

In practice none of them; what a party does in government is more important than their platform, and both the country's president and entire parliament are Independents.

Whose voting for National Islamic Movement?

All parties are required to be Islamic because of Afghan law.

Who wants to kick the United States out? Whoever that is, I'd back.
I believe the Social Democrats and Islamic Party are taking a stance against them, but they're could be others I'm not aware of.

Afghan Social Democratic Party - I am also a bit partial to Green Trend and Truth and Justice but really do not have enough information to make a wise decision.

Is there a moderate leftist but pro-gun and pro-civil unions party out there?

I don't think any of the major parties support civil unions. Republican would probably be the closest to moderate leftist.

Locking voting a couple hours early, but I think we can safely say Green Trend wins.
