Im still an Edwards supporter, but he hasnt been in the headlines much.

By the way, Edwards at the top of the ticket would have yielded totally different results.  He may not have won NC or any other southern states, but he would have done better overall in the south.   We he have won?  Probably not, but no one can deny he is a great stump speaker, fairly charismatic, and has the message down better than any other Democrat.  One things for sure, its gonna' be really tough for him to run in 2008 because he will have been out of the headlines and out of the job for 4 years.

he has some 'job' at the unc law school.

but, sooner or later im waiting for him to appear on a commercial saying something along the lines of 'been injured in an accident that wasnt your fault....i can help you get the settlement you deserve!"

I think he's one of the most overrated people in a long time.

He has 6 years of total political experience. He is a Senator. And this is the big part, he's a southerner yes, but he's also a liberal. Get that into your head. LIBERAL. Clinton was moderate. Edwards is not.

Edwards was pretty moderate. He'd give speeches that sounded left economically, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a moderate.

I always disliked him.  John Kerry was great - Edwards was too Southern for me.

He should publicize the Churchill case.

I heard something about marital problems, is there anybody from Colorado that can elaborate.  I thought he might have been the one, but he has been strangely quiet on the whole Churchill thing.

Were it not for Edwards, Kerry would never have closed the gap as much as he did after the DNC.  Edwards may have been a weak candidate overall  (let's be honest, he was),  but he breathed life into an otherwise stagnant Kerry campaign.  Unfortunately for Kerry, Edwards rose started to wilt when he was pitted against Cheney in the debate.

By the way Walter, Mo Do looks much better in pictures than she does in person.  Must be the airbrushing.

He divorced his wife of 28 years.

Still like him- he gets the vision thing that Kerry and to a lesser extent, Gore, didn't get. I fully expect to support him if he runs, and not because he's from the South.

I love Edwards!  If Gephardt doesn't run in '08 (which is pretty likely), I will definitely support Edwards.

I want him to run in 2008.  It's pretty hard to get all the attention when you're only the second pick.  He actually breathed a lot of life into the campaign, and if you want to look at any tangible positive, he probably reeled in Wisconsin.  I still stand by my notion that if he were to have won the nomination, he would've defeated Bush rather easily.  He just didn't have the baggage Kerry had, and for as much as I would've loved Kerry to be President, he really couldn't make up what he was standing for.  John Edwards had a definite message, charisma, and screaming "trial lawyer" wasn't going to work for 6 months.

And overall, my favorite thing about him is that he's a true liberal without looking like one.  Beautiful.

If I had to rank who'd I'd like the Democrats to run in '08

1. Al Gore
2. John Edwards
3. Hillary Clinton
4. Mark Warner
5. Evan Bayh

you know, I'd be willing to bet if Kerry won North and South Carolina but lost Pennsylvania, and still lost the election, Dems would still love Edwards.  I guess he was seen as a way of cracking the solid south.
