There is no "I want Lewis back but no" option.

Plus I don't really think Opebo should have been banned, even though I don't particularly care for him.

Lewis is among my top favorites of posters across the pond and what happened to opebo was disgusting. Both.

Option 4, as if you really wanted Lewis back you wouldn't mind opebo. Is there No longer an ignore function?

There is no "I want Lewis back but no" option.

This would've been my vote.  Bringing opebo back for Lewis would essentially give any user veto power over a ban.

I'm not sure that you understand the difference between reasonable and unreasonable desires and behavior. Even on a conceptual level, apparently.

What I, at least, want for Lewis is for him to realize that it's not worth leaving a place that he spent a lot of time on and to which he contributed a lot for the sake of a user as toxic as opebo was towards the end. I'd be willing to give Lewis a lot to get his contributions back, but that doesn't include giving him the power to essentially blackmail the site administration.

In what way was opebo particularly "toxic.. towards the end"? It seemed like he was going out of his way to censor himself so he could stick around.

Anyway, we need both of them back. Anyone who doesn't get why Lewis would leave over the opebo ban probably never really understood what he was about in the first place.

'Towards the end' as in 'once it became clear that there was essentially a cult of personality developing around him', not just the past few weeks--when, yeah, he was on his best behavior, and one can only wish that he could have shown such restraint all along.

I think the "personality cult" existed long befre you and I joined the forum.. its not like he was bushie, who really doesn't contribute anything outside of the stupid update thing..and honestly bushie is far more vocal about his morally repugnant personal life.

Probably, but it seemed more obvious over the past year or so, somehow.
