DO NOT VOTE until after midnight EST at the beginning of Friday. Any votes cast before this time will not be counted

This is the one and only official ballot for the Mideast Propostions being voted upon in March 2005.

Voting will open at midnight EST on Friday 18 March, 2005 and will close exactly 72 hours later; Only votes in this time frame will be counted.

This vote is being conducted in accordance with the Election and Vote Regulations Statute and the Mideast Constitution

If you edit your vote, or the post containing your vote, it will be counted as void. If you campaign in this thread it will be likely counted as void, and you may be subject to further prosecution under the Campaigning in Voting Booths Statute. It would be appreciated if you didn't comment in this thread other than to vote.

To qualify to vote in this election you must be registered in one of the following States ten days before this election began and display an avatar or have a note in your signature to that effect:

DC, IL, IN, KY, OH, MD, MI, MO, VA, WV or WI.

Because Governor Peter Bell will not be available to close this voting booth, Lt. Governor Joe Republic will be closing the voting booth. His determination of the results will be considered final. For the duration of the election Governor Peter Bell and Lt. Governor Joe Republic are considered to both be administrators of this voting booth.

To pass, these Propostions and Initiatives simply require more Aye votes than Nay votes. There are the following Propositions and Initiatives to be voted on:

Prop 05 - Activity Requirements Statute

1.  Those registered voters of the Mideast Region shall be considered inactive if they have not posted at least five times in the forum at large in the four weeks prior to the commencement of a given election or vote, or have not posted at all in the fantasy elections boards in the eight weeks prior to the aformentioned commencement.
2.  Under authority granted by Article IV, Clause 1 of the Regional Constitution, those considered inactive under Clause 1 of this Statute shall not be eligible to vote in a given election or vote.

Prop 06 - Juvenile Death Penalty Abolition Statute

1.  The Death Penalty shall no longer be considered as a possible punishment in the Mideast Region for those criminals who were less than eighteen years old at the time of the commission of their crime.
2.  The decision of the Mideast Governor to commute the death penalties of those juvenile criminals whose sentences would not have been rendered had this statute been in effect is affirmed.

Prop 07 - Gubernatorial Election Statute

This statute lays down regulations for the Instant Runoff Voting that will be used in the election of the Governor and Lt. Governor in the Mideast Region.

Init 01 - Death Penalty Abolition Statute

The death penalty in the Mideast region is hereby abolished for any crime committed. No person may be executed from the date of inception. All people currently on death row will be given lifetime sentences.

Please vote aye, nay or abstain (or appropriate derivatives) on each of the above propositions and initiatives.

Prop 08 - Regional Flag Statute

Which of the following Flags shall we have adopt as our Regional Flag?

Flag 1:

Flag 2:

Flag 3:

Flag 4:

Flag 5:

Flag 6:

Flag 7:

Flag 8:

Flag 9:

Flag 10:

Flag 11:

Flag 12:

Flag 13:

Please use Preferntial Voting (Instant Runoff Voting) for this proposition only. You have the right to write-in a flag; A write-in will only be valid if an image of the flag is posted on your ballot similar to how they are posted on this ballot.

Thank you to Lt. Governor Joe Republic for closing down the booth for me. Also, thank you to all of you who voted this weekend; I'm glad to see so many voters making the effort to participate in our great democracy.

I would also like to congratulate Akno for writing and getting passed the first Initiative in the Mideast. I am within my rights to veto the initiative, but I have decided to respect the will of the people on this matter.

I am also very proud that our Region now has its own flag and I congratulate Lt Governor Joe Republic and thank him for all his hard work on this matter.
