What can you even still get with one? Unless you're into actual amateur/ham radio type stuff, I don't see the point, since you can't get the BBC World Service, RCI, Deutsche Welle or anything else like that on shortwave.

I don't own one. I was actually thinking about it earlier today as my partner and I scoured around an antique shop. If I had a receiver I probably wouldn't use it much, if ever. Is there anything worth listening to on them?

I had too much wine one night and listened to UVB-76 for 3 straight hours waiting for something to happen, it didn't. :/

I do not have a shortwave radio, but I do have a 1948 Bendix tube radio with a marine and air band tuner. I got it in a junk store in 2008 for only a few dollars and it is in pretty decent shape. As a matter of fact, It's one of the oldest electronics that I use on a somewhat regular basis (along with my 1952 Webster-Chicago Wire Recorder).

I actually still have 2 record players. One is a newer one from 2004 and the other is a school record player from the mid-1980s or so. I use them from time to time to play my old Rock and Roll 78rpm records from the 1950s.
