I don't think I've received or given any gifts in years. It's simpler for everyone that way.

Beats by Dre
Cards Against Humanity
A bunch of shirts
An obscene amount of chocolate
A pig mask and a horse mask
Some more cool stuff

Overall a pretty successful Christmas.

Well, in addition to the stuff I mentioned in the Happy Christmas Holidays thread, I got a bar of soap and a box of chocolates.

We have a tradition in our family that we don't exchange gifts among siblings.

Only mum gets presents (my dad used to get presents too before he died last year) and the kids of course (my small nephew and 2 nieces).

So, I gave the 3 kids 25€ each plus chocolate and a book about a dog for my nephew and sticker books for the 2 girls plus glitter pencils.

I brought some wine for my brother though and his girlfriend who invited us.

I gave my mum a new set of cozy winter shoes worth about 60€, pralines and wine.

I got 100€ from her.

I also gave my father a 20% off any purchase at Target coupon, come to think of it.

Diary of a Southern Gentleman-Hunter Thompson.
The Revenge of Geography-Robert Kaplan.
The Creature from Jekyll Island-Edward Griffin.
A Sirius Radio adapter for my car from my parents.
A $50 Visa gift card from my aunt.

I bought some old vinyl records for a friend of mine, and got my brother a can of spam (the same one from the last two years that he refuses to open).

I gave my girlfriend a gift card to Catherine's, Hunger Games 1 on DVD, and a 2014 Bible Reading Calendar that I also follow.

I gave my grandmother Billy Graham's newest book.

I did not get my mother or dad anything this year.  I regret that decision right now.

My girlfriend gave me some candy, (peanut brittle, sweet tarts, nerds, and blueberry candy canes).  She also gave me a new billfold which I needed desperately.  Her brother gave me a Thunder shirt.  Her parents gave me a long blue towel that has "Jeff" embroidered on it.

My mother gave me a new watch which is an annual tradition as well as a gift card to Best Buy.  Grandma gave me $60 in cash.

It was a very small Christmas, but it was the best Christmas of my entire life.  The first Christmas with the love of my life!

I got a new electric shaver, a Cuyahoga Community College shirt/sweatshirt, some Jordache, jeans/athletic pants, a "Joe Biden for President 2016" sweatshirt and a "LGBT for Obama" sweatshirt, a stylus pen, socks, underwear, a "Hey Kasich! You're Next!" bumper sticker, $25, and some chocolate.

For my dad - 3 bags of Uncle Ray brand chips (He loves them since the brand is from Detroit (his birthplace) and really isn't a hard person to shop for).

For my mom - Gave her a scented Christmas candle, a can of carpet cleaner, a glass figurine of Mary the Virgin Mother (it was pretty cheap), an animated Hallmark card, nail polish, envelopes, and 2 boxes of caramel creams.

My sister (who's also in college) - 2 packs of pens, paper, a pink portfolio/folder, a small bag of fake coal in her stocking (complete accident on my part Tongue), nail polish, a stylus pen, a Christmas caterpillar thing, and 2 boxes of Junior Mints: Peppermint Crunch.

My brother/sister-in-law (Have their own house in Columbus where they had my sister-in-law's family over there for Christmas and we plan to go up to see them for post-Christmas on Friday-Sunday) - A bag of Jalapeno chips for my brother and a bag of No Salt chips for my sister-in-law.

Obvs I was on a budget.

From the Parents: cash, a sweatshirt, socks, and for some reason a Hickory Farms summer sausage sampler

From Relatives, Co-workers, and The Rest: gift cards that will ensure it will be months before I pay for another drink at Starbucks myself

To the Parents: various books, CDs

To the Brother: a gift card to REI

To Co-workers: Christmas peppermints in seasonally themed canisters

To My Office Secret Santa Recipient (who is also the firm's managing partner): a framed print of a funny legal-related cartoon from The New Yorker

What I Gave
  • Necklace -to my mom
  • Hat and mittens - to my aunt
  • Gloves - to my grandma
  • Thermal socks - to my uncle
  • Another necklace - to another aunt
  • Detroit Tigers zombie figure - to my cousin
  • Book of construction paper and a puzzle eraser - to another cousin

What I Got
  • Bookshelf
  • iTunes App Store gift card
  • All four seasons of ALF on DVD
  • Visa gift card
  • Zemindar - Valerie Fitzgerald (believe me, I'll read it; I kind of appreciate love stories)
  • Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
  • Little Women - Louisa May Alcott (something I've been wanting to read)
  • Boy's Life - Robert McCammon
  • Various types of aftershave (incl. Lime Sec)
  • Lectric Shave (in my stocking)
  • Various candies (in my stocking)
  • Beatles T-shirt (wasn't too sure about this one; although I love the Beatles, I'm not quite sure I want to be endorsing everything they did)
  • A Hard Day's Night on vinyl LP (it was 180g vinyl, which I don't really care about, and I'm not too thrilled it was remastered, but it still probably sounds a heck of a lot better than a loudness war-victim CD or download)
  • Book of presidential campaign posters (that can be taken out and framed Smiley)

All in all, it was a pretty good Christmas.  I didn't really ask for much since most of my presents had already been bought (and I don't usually ask for anything because I don't want to impose on people to get me something they can't.)

What I gave:

Not sure what Beatles shirts Oldies got. If they have anything to do with John Lennon on them, I'll back him up 100%.
