A massive assassination scandal occurs where Carol Moseley Braun is the only Democratic candidate for the nomination left.  After new people enter the race to challenge her candidacy, they all get assassinated mysteriously.  How would she fare against Bush?

(Sorry about the far-fetched assassination story.  It's the only way Braun could win the nomination.)

Option 6 for me, probably.

Option 6, most likely.

option 1 if there's assassinations.  I read over Braun's platform and liked it.  If she got the nomination on her on, she'd have women and blacks so united behind her that she might pull out a victory outright.  Especially if she picked someone like Bayh as her running mate.

Some of the %'s may be off, but I was to lazy to actually put any thought into them.  Heres the map.

The fact they were assassinated might actually help her, sympathy votes.

Nick, I think your map is right on target.

I actually like Carol Moseley Braun when I hear her talk.  I like her personality and her demeanor, and what she represents at a high level.  I simply don't like her policy prescriptions to deal with real life issues.

You don't think people would be a little suspicious about the mysterious assasinations when new Democrats enter the race against her?

Gotta go with Bush here. Obviously, he wins in a landslide.

I'd vote Moseley-Braun, but Bush would win.

Braun was probably the most qualified of the "not a chance in hell" candidates, but I still would have gone Bush.

Bush for sure, but  don't you think that she could have carried IL by riding on Obama's coat-tails?

Regardless of all the intrigue, I would vote Libertarian and Bush would likely win.

Ya know where she would have done the Dems a world of good?  DNC chair.  She si a good speaker, not a complete loony, good at framing and discussing issues adn needs to be kept as far from forming policy as possible.  Sounds like a good party chair to me.

I'd vote Mosely Braun, and she would do a lot better than most of you are suggesting. The election was so divided that there are too many voters who just wouldn't vote Bush/3rd party that it would be respectable. I think she wins VT, MA, RI, NY, NJ, MD, DC, IL, CA, HI.

She's not scary like Sharpton, she has actual experience, and is a good speaker. I respect her a lot, and the Dems should have used her in some way.

One must remember, much of Kerry's votes were not votes for Kerry but were votes against Bush.

SE Gov Harry,

Seeing that map in your signature makes it much easier to understand why the old flag won in a landslide.  It's too f'ing busy.   Georgia did much better with their compromise flag.

Braun would win... if the candidates assassinated were well loved and it wasnt all that mysterious. Also if Illinois kept their mouth shut about her.
