http://www.dischord.com/bands/nationofulysses.shtml

The band's gimmick was that they were supposedly leftist revolutionaries that were trying to establish some sort of socialist goverment in America and their records were full of mock propaganda writings. Hence the record 13 Point Program To Destroy America which of course originally had 13 tracks. I like the band and think it symbolizes revolutionary leftism pretty well.

Blerpiez is a semi-random series of letters that was typed by my friend once, and then printed out all over multiple pages of school paper.  I later hijacked it for my own username.  It is pronounced like the words blur and peas put together.

Joe = my name
Republic = because its like 'Joe Public', a play on words.  But this is a political forum, so I made it even more clever.

Tat reminds me of a cartoon from a newspaper, in which Marx and lenin come into a bar, and they ask the bartender if he doesn't have a saw. The bartender asks why, and Marx says, showing the handcuffs that bind them together: "I'm tired of being handcuffed to this guy."

My last name is Nyman, and Nym was my nickname from high school. It's pronounced with a long I sound, by the way, for any who may have wondered.

The 90 is just random; I thought it sounded good with Nym, the alliteration and all.

That reminds me of a series of comic books Marx for Beginners, Lenin for Beginners, Mao for Beginners, and Capitalism for Beginners.

All four are like comic books, full of humorous drawings, and having finished reading them (and having read the greater portion of the primary source material: Marx, Lenin, and Mao, as well as Smith, Keynes, Friedman and Hayek) I can say that all of them are very accurate and loaded with information.

Capitalism for Beginners is particularly good, written by some CUNY economist, and probably the best book of the four to begin with, as it goes through the foundations of capitalism, through classical economics, through Keynesianism and monetarism, and back around to Marx.

At the end, it has a lot of interesting dialogue with J. M. Keynes, Milton Friedman, and F. A. Hayek, finally ending with a coversation (very Golgotha) between Keynes and the specter of Marx.

After reading Capitalism for Beginners, I think any of my readers would want to go on and read the documentary comics on Marx, Lenin, and Mao.

Compared to Governor Ruth Ann Minner of Delaware, any female governor is attractive.

My god, she's ugly.

Anyway, you may continue the thread.

Angus McCloud is the pseudonym under which I generally order pizzas, chinese food, or use when I have to wait for a table at a restaurant.  The real Angus McCloud was a colleague of mine with whom I'd often discussed politics.  He was a plutocrat.  And a fun guy to hang around.  This was back when I was pretty hard leftist, Massachusetts Revolutionary Worker's Party member and reader of all sorts of leftist rags.  We'd discuss issues over single-malt scotch back in the day.  Angus died a mysterious death in his home a few years ago.  When I became a republican I decided to honor him by taking his name.  For ordering food, it replaced my former pseudonym, Haywood Jablomi, and later I began using it for posting on political websites.

I used the phrase "gee whiz" alot, then because of my obsession with cheese, I started to say "cheese whiz," to be silly.  I thought it made a pretty good username, so I used it.

Anyway, nini was a nickname back in middle school (a variation on my first name, Nick) and 2287 is my birthday.

She used to be, but with that picture she looks like the wicked witch of the west.  Maria Shriver is looking more and more like her mother, sad to say.

I thought it was "myn" backwords, you know, to piss off radical feminists Smiley

Anyway, my given name is really "Blue K. Rectangle".  The family changed the name from Gomez to Rectangle when they came over from the old country because they thought Rectangle sounded more all-American.

Well... Back in the day I'd always go to forums and choose a username like Spartan, Spartanion or Gen. Spartan then when I found this forum I was getting tired of that name. It was NFL Wild Card weekend and I chose the name TheWildCard. Later of course I changed it to plain old Wildcard.
