I see nothing wrong with our current names.

I know, but why not respect both. Also, section 2 is irrelevant now.

I will respect both as soon as the federal government respects our right to our own chosen state names!

I would rather have just the normal names, but I guess this is a good compromise for me, so I won't veto it should it pass the Althing. I don't mean to be rude in any way, but I also want to offer an amendment to address one or two issues:

I fixed a typo on Nebraska, eliminated the part of the Midwest State Name Act (that bill is now gone forever) and I changed it to an amendment so the Midwestern people can vote on it.

Sounds good to me Lumine. Ilikeverin, then lobby the Senate to recognize the names.

There is a bill pending, sponsored by our comrade TNF!  I look forward to lobbying for the bill when it comes up for a vote.

Just so you know, it is my policy as RG to accept voter registrations that use the regional state names (but I still list them using the common names).

Good, thank you!  That's a step in the right direction.  *hughughug*

Why? we do not recognize the traditional names (national names) on the regional level.

Why does it say eleven provinces?  There are ten states.  Or did we add one I don't know about?

Oh my.  We shouldn't withdraw our claim to New Mexico!  What if WMS comes back?  This seems like an issue we should vote on before we go to a final vote.

I was not meaning to withdraw our claim, however, we have no de jure or de facto jurisdiction over New Mexico so I did not include it in my legislation.

I have to admit that I have very little knowledge of previous Midwest history, what is WMS?

WMS was a frequent poster and active member of Atlasia, who, despite being full of *hughughug*, sadly was located just over the (official) border in territories administered by the Pacific.  Our rightful claim to Swagger derives from our desire to have him as a part of the region, plus various historical claims (the regions were once accidentally completely unequal in size).

Well I offer an amendment to change it to ten instead of eleven, ilikeverin does number 3 address your concerns properly?

3. The Most Serene Republic still claims the state of New Mexico as apart of the region.
