I was excited to read this, so I dropped by Barnes & Noble today before work and picked up a copy. And coincidentally I have two days off starting tomorrow Cheesy

I've been avoiding all of the threads about excerpts because I didn't want to spoil much, but considering how many there were I'm sure I'm not the only one excited to read this? Take the poll, and come here to discuss the book as you read it or share your thoughts once you're done.

I confess, I'd love to read about people's certainty that Romney was going to win in the days and hours before the election. Given that he planned to fill the sky over my head with a giant fireworks display knowing it would be perceived as a big middle finger to the state that never appreciated his gifts, I'm not a grown-up about this.

I put on a hold on it at the library. Unfortunately, there were like 60 people ahead of me last time I checked.

I bought the digital copy and am reading it with the Kindle app on my iPad. I consider books of this sort to basically be really massive longform magazine articles and not the sort of thing I'm going to waste finite bookshelf space on (and pay twice as much for).

I'd rather not trawl through pages of tawdry campaign dreck.

I plan on reading it because childish drama is literally the only thing I find entertaining about politics any more

Oh absolutely, I'm just assuming that the worthwhile bits will be quoted everywhere and I won't have to actually read it and/or pay for it.

I agree.  These books full of anonymous statements are BS.  If someone has something to say step up to the mic and bring your proof.  You want to do this whisper campaign then don't waste my time.

I've been skimming it on my tablet. It is good but not as good as 2008 Game Change.

A couple of tidbits not reported in media (or I haven't seen):
- It was Huntsman's campaign that leaked Cain's sex scandal stuff (not Perry's)
- Huntsman seriously considered switching to run as Indie
- Romney's campaign fed Bachmann's campaign oppo on Perry to get her to attack him in debates
- Romney campaign was plagued by Chinese hackers (had to keep VP vetting files on non-networked computers)

People who like the inner workings of campaigns/seek to work on campaigns instead of just posting their opinions on the internet perhaps?

Well, Jesse Jackson wants to cut off his nuts, so I can't blame him.

That was inevitable. 2012 hadn't the drama and historic nature of 2008.

So some geeks thought one guy who is never going to be president dumped some oppo research on another guy who is never going to be president but now some anonymous source said it was actually someone else who isn't going to be president.

Okay.  Again I ask.  Who cares?

Even if any of this is true which has yet to be proven how would this help you if you wanted to work on a WINNING campaign?  You have three people who don't have a snowball's chance in heck of ever holding higher political office jockeying around for dead last.  What have we learned?

It was much more interesting in the final month though, 2008 was really boring in the last couple of weeks. Of course, the schadenfreude was much greater in 2012 as well, for obvious reasons.

If you have something to say say it. I don't have time to peruse random links to Wikipedia.
