No opinion.  I don't read the Update except occasionally when linked there from another thread.

Mixed. He occasionally provides a valuable service by exposing Bushie's hypocrisy/lies but his ability to beat a dead horse is second to none and that can get really annoying sometimes. Even Bushie deserves a break once in a while.

If you didn't compulsively lie, there wouldn't be any horses at all...

Maybe, but Eraser is right, even Bushie deserves a break.

What have you done to deserve a break?  How does endless lying warrant a break from anyone?  If you want to put your life on the Internet, fine.  But if you put something out there as truth, you can't whine and complain when you're called out on your endless lies.

If you're going to refer to yourself in the third person, wouldn't Doley be a better name than Bushie?

I enjoy his Javert-esque obsession with keeping Bushie honest and accountable.

I'm loving how Bushie is referring to himself in the third person now. Brilliant stuff.

Time for a major character to die (character only, not the person portraying it o/c).

I don't post in the update often, nor read it religiously, but I was irritated enough at the bullying to express so. Yeah.. negative opinion. Every story needs characters with clashing personalities and ideas, but such a relentless onslaught just ends up backfiring and you resent the other character for the frequency of making conflict alone.

Positive for sure. We all like to have fun, but in reality, it's good that someone calls Bushie on his lies. He calls people out for "defaming his good name", but he lies to all of us. Someone has to be the bad guy, and Inks does a great job at it.

As a rare poster but an avid lurker, I have to agree that my opinion of Inks' role in update is far too negative.

At first I thought that Inks just wanted in on the Update action, maybe to be recognized as a main character, but there is too much malice for that to be the only reason for what he does.

The intense need to prove that Bushie's a liar makes me feel that he's insecure and needs to put someone else down to feel better about himself, kind of like a 6th grade bully. I know Inks would like to think that he's doing something important and worthwhile, but he's no better than a tattler.

Really, what does it matter to his life if Bushie lies? And why does Inks need to be the one to point out the mistakes someone else has made?

IMHO, tattling is just as bad as lying. Inks, I'd ask you to stop but I don't think you will.

Awful. He thinks he's clever for pointing out Bushie is full of crap. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to deduce that. He's an obese 31 year old who lives with his parents in a trailer in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma and has zero chance of bettering himself. Let him have his attention whore fantasy. If he wants to think he has lunch with Jesus on Neptune, there's no need to go all DA and prove why that's not possible.
